My husband and I are looking into refinancing to consolidate our debts, it'll pay our credit cards, car payment etc...the lower monthly payment sounds great but I'm afraid it'll be more trouble than it's worth. Does anyone have any tips, suggestions, questions we should make sure we know before we say yes?

See, I just bought a house with my husband on 01 of '06 (this year) and he cheated on me so we are getting a divorce, selling the house and everything. We both live in our separate homes now. Should I do the taxes with him next year?, he says we should file jointly, I dont think we should. Are there any benefits to doing it jointly?

My parents paid a good amount of money to a "company" called College Money Matters and they stayed in contact with us for a few weeks. But after we stopped receiving phone calls and e-mails from them, we've tried to contact them. But their website is permanently under construction, their phone number is disconnected, and their e-mails are fake. They're supposedly located in Utah, but we think that address is a phony too. My mom has given up but I refused to let her settle for being cheated out of a large amount of money. If anyone knows anything I can do, please help. We've contacted Judge Judy, Shame on You, Better Business Bureau, but they all say they can't do anything unless they know the address of the company or if the company contacts them back, which they refuse to do. Please help!

I have a co-worker that told me yesterday that when she puts stuff in her check book, she rounds up to the next dollar instead of putting the exact amount. She says that it saves her a lot more money that way. I'm thinking of trying that, so I don't keep spending all my money before the next payday. I do put money in savings, but to save myself more in my checking, I think that would be a good idea. What do you guys think, or do any of you try this yourselves and how has it worked for you?

I work at a foodstore which pays me seven dollars an hour, my hours varies from 32 hours a week to 40. i can't find a good cheap apartments because they cost overly six hundred dollars a month per rent. I am gonna get a second job.

I just wonder if people should ever reduce prices on things and raise paychecks for us all? I mean do they expect us to all be naked, starven, skinny, and shetlerless people?

A pin number would reduce the amount of credit card theft, which would save the credit card companies millions. So why don't they make every transaction require a pin like a debit card?

They assured us we would have a support line- it'a an answering machine and no one ever calls back. The website I was promised will not pull up. And they charged us 2xs last month, they did a reversal but we still had a induffiecent funds fee that they refuse to refund for us even though it was there mistake.

My company offers a 401k through Fidelity. I'm 28 years old and have not previously invested in a 401k. Can anyone suggest a good, simple portfolio through Fidelity? Thanks in advance!

This debt is not owed . . . but I can't prove it. So, to clean up my credit I am trying to pay the so-called debt ($1200) anyhow. The collection agents call two or three times a day and everytime I decide to speak to them I offer to pay $50 dollars a month. That is all I can afford right now, but they say . . No! They want at least a $100 dollars a month. Should I just start sending the $50 a month certified mail? I want this debt, the phone calls, the stress to go away. What should I do?

I wrote a check for my rent which is $700.00 on October 1. My bank only deducted $70.00 out of my account instead of the $700.00. My boyfriend suggests taking my money out of the account and going elsewhere before they notice. I'm not sure that I want to belong to a bank that's made such a huge mistake. What would you do?

I'm planning on quitting my job early in 2007. I am fully vested in my employer's 401k plan and am entitled to a match of 3% of my salary for 2006. Typically, my employer deposits the full match in April of the following year (2007, in this case). If I quit before the money is deposited, am I still entitled to the match since it was fully accrued at the end of 2006? I've seen a lot of information regarding the vesting itself, but nothing in reference to the logistics around the timing of the payout.
