I'm not trying to boast but I've been told I make really nice gift baskets. I have a bridal shower to go to but I'm short on cash. If I buy a gift basket and gift wrap from the dollar store, and buy some bath and body products from a local warehouse sale (which is good quality) will it be cheaper than buying a ready made basket?

My fiance and I are getting married in June 07
He is wanting to have his own personal account that he will take 50-100 out his check every pay period to spend on whatever he wants no matter cost or what the item is. His example was a $40 video game. That I have no problem with. My issue is that we had agreed to have a joint account at one bank and now he is wanting his own account seperate while I place my entire check into the joint account . Both of us are on direct deposit. Am I wrong by feeling like this is an unfair deal if he's taking amounts out of his check to "play" and my check is used for bills along with his. He brought up that he makes more money than I do so he should be able to spend what he wants. I am very concerned with having to track two accounts possibly three or more if I have an account then the joint account his personal account. So anyone that has joint accounts or single accounts or both what has worked best for you... ? Second how can this affect us tax wise

I dont understand the term "average client margin balances".

Please enlighten me. Is it the funds borrowed from the broker or the debit balance with the broker ? Or is it your money kept in your account at the brokerage !

We received a refund check from our lender for overpayment of taxes. I deposited it on monday last week, and they said they had to wait for the check to clear before it would be available. On Saturday, the check cleared. Last night they bank put a hold on our account stating that we are overdrawn. I went to the bank and they said that the company who sent the check stopped payment
Is it possible to stop payment on a check that has already been cleared?

I recently came into a small amount of money (about $20,000) and I don't want to spend it all, I wanted to know if anyone had ideas about what the best thing to do with it is. I was thinking a high interest savings account. I don't want a cd or anything, we are planning on using the money as a down payment on a house. Are there any other options for it?
