Lots of parents are looking for babysitters. It's up to you to get the word out that you offer those services. Why don't you copy off some flyers and take them to local elementary schools or primary schools. Talk to the principal and i'm sure he'll have the teachers pass them out to the students in their classes. If you don't want to do that. Pass the flyers out to the parents after school as they are picking up their children. Good Luck.

First of all...make sure you both earn enough money to purchase separate hair straighteners. Do not try to share one of them...at 12 years old that is a ticket to the end of the friendship!

Second of all, ask your parents! You need to know what your parents think you are responsible enough to do. Maybe they feel like they could ask around at their employers to see if their co-workers need any services.

Furthermore, if your parents aren't sure, ask them what you could do around the house to help, and ask if there is any way to earn money from that. The most important thing to remember is to be responsible. If you say you will do something, no matter how much you don't want to.

I am 25 years old and would never spend $200 on a hair straightener. A great suggestion by someone else is to agree upon a lower priced straightener. Think about this. If you are paid $5 an hour to babysit, you would have to work 10 days at 4 hours a day to make $200. PLUS, $200 plus tax is almost $220. that means you'd have to work an extra day to cover taxes. And this is just for ONE of you! Are you sure you still want that straightener?

Good luck on your decision. Just do not solicit (ask) strangers for opportunities to make money because you can't trust them.

Oh, and the e-bay thing: First, as minors you cannot sell on e-bay because you cannot enter in to a contract, which an e-bay transaction is. Second, what would you sell? :-)

Well first of all....I just bought an amazing straightener at Walmart for $20 and it is truly an awesome thing. Works like no other I have ever tried....you might want to try it for $20 before you try so hard to get $200. Email me and I will tell you the brand and all that.....other than that I would babysit, walk dogs, house sit, pet sit, offer to do those hated chores for moms in your neighborhood......put up adds if you have to...

GOOD LUCK GIRLS!!!

Become an eBay seller. No one knows how old you are on eBay and all you need to do is be very reliable in shipping the stuff you sell. The adults around you will think it's cute and will give you items to sell.
