I have had a credit card for years, and an account with the same bank. The interest rate is high to say the least.
However, during the last year I had to retire due to bad health. I had an overdraft which I worked on like most.A relative paid both my account O/D off plus my Credit Card balance.Great I thought, however over the next few months it was borrowed back by him with the promise of repayment, which I trusted. It never came back, not only did all the money go that had been given but more.I'm in a real fix, only being on benefits. any ideas, don't really want to let bank know of my situation in case they pull the plug,I need this money to survive.Help I want to transfer any outstanding monies to one CC.with one payment each month so I can get straight,is there a way round this without letting the bank know my position.I do have regular monies going in,but like most I'm in a rob Peter to pay Paul situation.I'm not a criminal, just need advice at 6O it's such a worry to me.Help please

I received an email from British International claiming that my other email has been selected randomly and I won cash money. Should I contact this organization or is it a prank.

I went to a Quixstar meeting tonight and felt like I was an outcast. I asked questions maybe too many and the people there said they never seen it fail...they said my job was a prison...They know how to do it I don't....I mentioned what is the % of people who suceeded they don't have that number? If this is so great why isn't everyone doing it? If you have a limited income and shell out $160 and lose money how is that good? Theres a money back guarantee the speaker said? I'm just really confused and they were seem arrogant that I was asking since I must be dumb??

If someone is making $100,000 per year, it's understandable it would be easier for them to pay off the same amount of debt than someone making $20,000-$30,000 per year. At least in most cases. Of course circumstances would determine that.

However, what is the maximum amount of debt you've paid off in ONE YEAR, making LES THAN $30,000 per year? How did you do it? What advice on budgeting ect can you offer?

Please state the amount of debt you had, and your income during the period you were struggling to clear up your credit. Sometimes after medical problems, a person is not able to return to work making the same amount of money, or return to work at all.

Thanks

Thanks for input. I hate keeping up with checks when debit cards are so much more covenient. I also wish the transaction was instant. Can I use paypal to instantly pay my roommate rent? Is it hard to set up? Is there a charge? Is it safe?

Theoretically speaking. Suppose you were changing careers and needed a steady income that would at least pay the bills, say 30K/yr., until you'd made the full transition.

With Bank of America in particular. Will it give you the money and say you overdrafted, or just refuse the funds?

I used an online pension calculator yesterday. I have a fund of 48K from 15 years of saving already, and save £100 per month into a private fund. I am 41, and will need to work until I am 70. In today's money, it says that I will get 6K per year (peanuts). I earn 33K now, to get a pension of 22K (which is as high as the calculator will go) I need to save £834 per month. How the hell can anyone afford that?
I know that hopefully my mortgage will have been paid by then, but to go from a 33K lifestyle to a 6K one is a big drop.
How crap is our pensions commision?

My mother purchased a car for my sister to drive for work and sis agreed to pay notes & insurance. (1st mistake...) My sister then stiffed her on the agreed monthly payments for 6 months, and failed to cover the car with full-coverage insurance...Guess next!
New car, uninsured & now totalled. As an added bonus, my sister used the tollway without the proper tag and ran up $2600 in camera fines running the EZTAG lanes. The authorities are telling my mother she is responsible because the plates comeback in her name. My mother cannot go to jail for something my sister did! She is elderly, and lives over 80 miles from the occurances. What can we do??? Please anyone with good advice, Help me keep my Mother out of jail!

It happened to an allegedly forged coin of mine, it pissed me off. I understand that we shouldn't be circulating fake money, but why doesn't the national bank accept it in exchange of a fair amount? And does more to catch the forgers?

ok here goes . when i got a motgage a few years ago my friend let me use her name as well as my own to get the mortagage . she never paid a penny towards this . basically just helped me get the mortgage . anyway she then moved abroad and decided she might not be coming back . so i told her i was going to put the mortgage back in to my name and my name alone . she agreed it would be best as she was planning on living abroad . anyway as she wasnt here she told her sister to sighn on her behalf and everything was fine . now 2 and a half years later she has she has moved back and shes with this guy whos a jerk . and she told him my house was hers and mine . so now they have decided to try and fight me for half of the house and she is saying she can prove that it was sighned over while she was away . and i have asked her why is she doing this as i trusted her . and she said that it is half hers and she will take me to court for it . do you think i should be worried .

i have a 401k through a company that i don't work for anymore, i'd like to turn the money into an IRA or some other type of savings, but i'm not sure how to go about it. i'm not even sure of the correct questions to ask the company to get the paperwork to do this. as you can see i'm not very savvy when it comes to financial matters so any help from an experienced financial person would be greatly appreciated. thank you!
