I plan to leave for India in another 6-7 years. Currently I am enrolled in a company specific 401K plan. Will I get taxed in both India and the US upon withdrawal? What about early penalty since I'm leaving the country for good? At the time I expect to become a US citizen (Currently H1B holder with Green Card applied for). Any help will be appreciated.

Also, can I use a (no-penalty) loan from 401K towards my first home purchase when the property is in India?

Links supporting answers would be ideal but not necessary.

You've heard the saying " you don't get anything free ...!",or "there is always a catch!" but how about things like fresh air/oxygen as a simple example.. this is free. Is their always a CATCH or PRICE to pay. Another example is free downloads/file sharing etc..the argument here is you get viruses as the price !

I make decent money now but am in way over my head in financial debt. I moved to take a new job to try and dig myself out of debt but have been unable to rent out my home from my old address. Now I am in worse shape than before. I now make 65,000 a year but used to make 52,000. It's just too late. Can I file bankruptcy making this much money? What should I do? I don't care if I lose every bit of property I own if I can just get out of all this debt. Is there anyone who can help me know what to do?

I need a co signer for a personal guarantee to a corporation I am investing in. This would be extra insurance for the bank to cover their loan. I can get the loan for the initial investment but I do not have any friends or family in the position to help. I would be willing to pay a % of the profits to a co signer. how do I find someone? Advertise? This is no chump change the person could make a very nice return. any ideas

does anyone know what can happen to your checking account during a chapter 7 bankruptcy?i have a joint account with my husband, but im filing by myself.we have a overdraft line of credit at 1000dollars that has to be included.my lawyer says to call the bank and explain that im filing by myself not with my husband and we are gonna keep the account and keep paying what we owe on the overdraft.im concerned because our checks get directly deposited and im afraid they will take that money and close our account.then we wont be able to pay all our other bills.so what do you guys think?

My bf needs a van for work. He has a car that always breaks down and isnt going to last through the winter. His tax is up in a month so really he needs a new van within the next 4 weeks. We went to garages and they said you can pay on finance and see if he can get it. it came back that he cant because his credit rating is low, or something. The bank wont give him any credit and no one will give him a loan. He only missed two payments from an earlier credit card but its all paid off now. he put in £500 deposit for a van he saw and now cant get it. How do you get a loan if no one is giving him one? Whats the best way to buy a van that he needs for him to work? It seems he is getting no where and he cant save up £4000 in a month. help! x

I received a check for a rebate, but they dropped the first letter of my first name and changed the second letter (the other 5 letters of my first and and my whole last name are correct). They have my correct address on the check. I remember in high school they said to endorse it incorrectly (the way it is on the check) first, then correctly - is that still true? Any bankers/tellers out there?

Why can't the credit card companies send us SMS text messages to our phones when transactions are performed using our card details. That way we would know immediately when someone has fraudalently used our card, and then we could reply if we hadnt just used it and they could probably catch the culprit whilst they are still in the shop using the card !!

I have long wondered why the companies have not done this?

Anyone know why, think its an good/bad idea ? or know of any card companies that do this already?
