I would say you just need to do some research because every couple's situation and needs are different. You can research the average cost of living for certain areas.

I suggest trying this bankrate.com calculator. You can choose the city you currently live in and the city you wish to move to and it will show you a comparision of cost per each city.

Well, it's not going to be minimum wage, that's for sure. You have to factor in all expenses (including, and especially, rent). I'm thinking ballpark of $30,000 each? The trouble is - your definition of "decent life" and mine may be vastly different, so the amount I'd need and the amount you need would be different.

I know NY, LA and San Fran. are some of the most expensive places to live in the US.

I would say at least 80,000 a year .And that would be for a very small apartment.Remember N.Y has the highest income tax in the U.S.I think they take 13.5% off the top of your paycheck.

Sweet Heart it differes by person to person. The rich couple has different and average different. I dont know from which catagory u belong.
