Stocks are not a very good choice for short periods. Prices fluctuate too much, and you may not have time to recoup short-term losses. If you will need the money in a few months, you'd be better off with a money market fund.

Put 10% of it on roulette. You have near 50% chance of making 10% profit and the most you can lose is 10%.
