I want to open a Roth IRA with USAA (my bank) and they require that I make $50 contributions a month to my Roth IRA. Is there any IRA law that says that I MUST keep contributing once the account is open? Does anyone else have a Roth IRA with USAA?

I try to save some money but I often failed…now honestly I’m scared…I don't wanna be a spender...

With high gas prices and everything is costing more than it did five years ago, how does your family stay out of debt? I wish our salaries would increase as quickly as inflation does but I doubt that will be happening anytime soon.

I am in the middle of cleaning up my credit, with quite a ways to go before it looks decent again. Trust me, the lesson was learned, and learned very well!
I have a dilemma now. I need to rent an apartment by October 1st, and I know without a doubt that it is going to be difficult, to say the least, to be approved once they get a look at my credit report.
I will be able to pre-pay the first six months of a year lease, but will that make a difference to a management company?

As I said, I am slowly but surely getting my credit cleaned up, but it takes time.....meanwhile, I have this issue about not being approved for a rental.

Anyone think that the ability to prepay the first six months of the lease will make a difference?

Thanks......

I have never talked to these agencies as it seems that if the credit card companies and collection agencies will give a break, they should do that with the debtor as well as with an agency. Or is it an "insider" issue where they will do things for other insiders and us regular folks are abused as much as they want to abuse us?

I want to open some sort of Cd account for my son. I want it to be something he (or I) can't get into until he is 18. When he is 5, I want to open it with $1500 and deposit an additional $1000 or more every year. Any suggestions as to a good way to achieve this.

I have a 1971 penny with a "bite" taken out of the edge of it. The bite is a circular slice out of the coin at the 8 o'clock position looking at the obverse side from where Lincoln's shoulder touches the edge up to just past the word "Liberty", and the arc of the curve is about the same as the curve of the penny. The "L" in Liberty is not in the right position, actually slightly moved over to the cut edge, making me think the cut was there when the coin was struck and not chopped out afterwards. On the reverse the word "United" is also distorted slightly where the letters run into the cut edge. Because of these distortions in the lettering it seems to me that when the coin was struck the cut was already there. Could this thing be worth anything, other than 1c?

Is this an urban myth? I keep hearing stories of people paying some guy 500-1000 to fix their credit score. I have a friend who works at a Jag dealership. He claims that a guy came in trying to get financed for a car on Monday and it didn't go through, but the same came back on Saturday and it went through. He asked his customer what happened? He guy claimed he has a friend in Atlanta who delete certain items off your credit and boost your score? One of my husbands friend got his car repoed and has been foreclosed on and this year he got a new car and a house? He claim he got his fixed? I suspect this is illegal, but is it true?

I have a bogus debt on my records. I moved out of an apartment unit years ago (2002) and now see a claim for $161 for cleaning. I recall when I moved out being told not to bother sweeping the garage floor, then having them bill me for over $100 for having someone sweep out the garage. If there is some way to dispute it and get out of paying, I suppose it would take months, and cost more than just paying. Feels like I am being ripped off but will pay to fix my credit report. The collection agency has not even writen to me trying to collect. The apartments have been sold to a new owner so there is no one to talk to who cares. America is going down the toilet when it comes to protecting people from ripoffs.

So, does anyone know how much these sharks will go down to get my dough?

The company will want to sue in its own state (South Dakota) because the Statute of Limitations on CC debt there is six years, where in my state (Texas) it is four years. So what is the legal precedent here? If this CC company sued me, would it take place in SD or Texas?

Note: I never signed a credit card application, less yet any document that specifies the location of a potential suit.

I'm not in the UK anymore and when I left I had a credit card and a personal loan with a major bank to the tune of about 3600 in total. I simply can't pay it off. My monthly payment is what I'm living off in one month now (I'm a student). Will will happen? How do I check if I have a CCJ? When does the bank abandon hope of collecting the debt? I know it takes 6 or 7 year for the CCJ to be written off my record. Thanks a lot :- |
