I'm not in the UK anymore and when I left I had a credit card and a personal loan with a major bank to the tune of about 3600 in total. I simply can't pay it off. My monthly payment is what I'm living off in one month now (I'm a student). Will will happen? How do I check if I have a CCJ? When does the bank abandon hope of collecting the debt? I know it takes 6 or 7 year for the CCJ to be written off my record. Thanks a lot :- |

I know you can get a credit report from the 2 main Credit reference agencies by sending a cheque/postal order of £2.00 to them and they will post it to you. It will list the credit you have had and ever tried to get.
You need to include full name and previous addresses.

i think maybe you should be talking to your bank, having any ccjs against you will always affect your credit rating even if they are written off or defaulted
