I stay at home now, but before I had my son I worked as a graphic artist for a printing company. I left on good terms and have hoped that I could work for them again on a free-lance basis. Well, they contacted me about doing a job about two months ago. I got the job on friday and turned it in on Monday. They said it looked great and never contacted me about revisions. A few weeks went by and I didn't hear from them, so I called to touch base. They said it had already printed and the customer loved it. I talked to the owner, and he said he didn't have the cash on him to pay me, but that he would get ahold of me the next week and settle up with me. That was a month ago! I know that they have money trouble from time to time, but I did work for them and I know they were paid extra for hiring me. How do i get them to pay me without being rude?

The government retirement I can add $15,000 a year with out paying penalities and the Roth says I can add $4,000 a year with out paying penalities, so does that mean I can put away $19,000 a year with out having to pay penalties to the government.

I am in a club called Junior Ambassadors which is involved with our County. We are looking to do some new and fun fundraisers this year and I need some ideas to bring to my next meeting. So if you have any kind of ideas besides Sees© Candy or car washes, that would be fantastic!

My Partner contracted out of the state second pension (S2P) some years ago. He has had a letter from the pensions company (Scottish Mutual), telling him that he may be worse off if he remains contracted-out, and he should think about contracting back in.

as pensions are very confusing. Could someone explain the difference between contracting out, and being contracted in? What are the implications of staying contracted out as he is, or choosing to contract back in?

He is 46, works full time.

I am presently writing a business plan with cash flow, profit/loss, balance sheet forecasts. I am having probs with the balance sheet forecast.

Proposed project is to develop, manufacture and sell an item of technology. The forecasts are for first 6 years. Y1-2 is development and testing, y3-6 is tooling, manufacturing and sales. The problem is that for the first 3 years the funding section is larger than the assets-minus liabilities. So to balance these years I put a value on the Intelectual property (to justify investment in this). But now that sales have kicked in (y3-6) and we would be more cash-rich the assets-liabilities is higher than the financing. The only thing I could do would be to reduce the IP value or introdue a spurious liability like trade creditors. I know its probably impossible to comment on this without seeing it but maybe there are common error sthat non-accountants make!? Thanks. (Any qs please email)

Someone is selling some DVDs, CDs, etc on eBay at a really good price... they are items I've been wanting for a while so I am quite determined to get them (I haven't bid for them yet).

They are from United States and I asked for the shipping price to Australia. He said it will be $42 USD with Priority Flat Rate cost.
I asked if it is possible to make it cheaper with slower shipping and he said, "We could do it First-Class, but the time for mailing services says "varies".... and the cost is still pretty high.... $34.00".

Are there any problems with choosing First-Class? Would that be okay to go for? Or is the $42 method a lot better?

Sorry, I don't know anything about shipping...

Thanks
