It wouldn't make any difference if you were 99 never mind 49. There is no upper age limit on migration. If that's what you want to do then I would say go for it and I wish you the best of luck for the future.

WHERE TO ?

As a UK citizen you can go live in any other EU country you like.

USA allows in workers & investors at any age - unlike UK they don't have a 'you are useless at 65' policy ...

Like Australia / New Zealand etc. most Countries have a 'points' system - you get more points the younger you are and the more qualifications you have, especially in a profession where they have a shortage. They then set a 'barrier' (which is gradually lowed during each year untill the quota is reached) so as to select the 'highest quality' candidates first.

Go visit the appropraite 'on-line' Embassy

Some countries have age limits on different types of migration visa. You will also need formal qualifications, family there or a lot of money for some places. Try anyway - you have to follow your dreams. Just have a plan B if it doesn't work and beware of internet experts who will offer to help with applications for visas knowing you probably won't get in - they'll still charge you....

I'm sure you'd able to if you're sent somewhere overseas by a company, but I'd have to say it would be pretty hard to move to another country just to live there at 49.
