Much depends on the "business setting". Obviously, in a food service situation, your hair would be an issue, as well as it would be in a medical setting.
If appearance is the only issue, the call is yours. However, if your employer objects, expect the employer to find a way to terminate you on OTHER legal grounds.

Women with long hair can achieve a professional look with a french braid or bun. It would be difficult to put that much hair up into any other style than a ponytail. A low ponytail fastened with a nice hair accessory would look professional.

nothing wrong with that. hell i have long hair middle of back well cut groomed nice. and ihave a great job no one says anything about it. and i'm a man.

I dont think its unprofessional. I do think hair that long is unattractive in a woman over a certain age...maybe 35.

As long as it is taken care of I think it's ok. If it tends to get in your face or anything I would just suggest pulling it back.
