Well, you are making some overtime $. Many employers will give you the option of banking those hours towards time off, instead of getting paid. It saves them money. Maybe ask your boss if you can do that.

Otherwise, play hardball and take all your personal days, and sick days, and whatever else ya got. Start looking for a new job because we all need time off!!! I feel for you...

Well, you should have known this two years ago when you took the job or learned it by talking to other employees in that time. Most USA companies paying in your situation offer 1-2 weeks paid vacation after a year - paid vacation being 40 hours basic pay. There isn't any legal requirement for vacation in the USA.

Your question got me to thinking because I thought for sure employers were required to give you vacation pay but unfortunately, I was wrong. I checked with the Dept of Labor and some other sites and there is nothing that requires a company to award you vacation days. My advise is to dump that company and look for a job that offers better benefits. If a company does not award you for something as simple as vacation pay, then there is not much else they will do for you. It benefits us to be more proactive in our career developement. Good luck and hope you find a better company.

So you've been there for two years and they offer no vacation time at all? If so, you need to find another job. That's just not right. Even when I was younger and working part time the company I worked at provided earned vacation time based upon how many hours I worked.
