My neighbors home has been vacant for 9 months or more.In Jan. a pipe in their home broke on the second floor no one knew this for a least a week!! It completely filled their basement (7' of water ). I live down hill from them. Since we had alot and I mean alot of snow I didnt realize the water i seen in my back yard and on my drive was flooding water not melting snow. The excessive water came in my basement and now My walls have begun to bow out I video taped all this when it was discovered. Walls are cracked and now every time it rains even the melting snow my basement gets wet. My home policy dosen't cover flooding since I live in a high area but dosen't their's cover when their property causes damage to someone elses like say a tree falling for example my insurance company told me to contact them they have said they will send someone out. By the way the home owner next door his company denied his claim. He didnt notify them that the house was vacant.

I have just graduated college and I am about to start a job that offers health insurance. However, I am clueless about what type of coverage I need. My company has plans with United Health and Blue Cross Blue Shields, but I don't know which one to pick. I have a 2 year old son, so I need something that will cover routine visits to the doctor and I also go to the doctor myself for regular checkups (i.e. pap smears). I would like to have emergency room coverage in case I have to rush my baby to the hospital in the middle of the night if something happens. I don't want to spend a lot of money a month (under $200) but I would like to have the right coverage for me and my baby. I an annual deductible is $2500, do I have to pay that out of pocket first before the insurance kicks in? I'm so confused.

I lost my mobile 3 or 4 weeks ago but my crappy insurance, which I pay £7 per month for, only covers theft. Should I just phone up the police and get a crime number (fairly easy I've been told) or would I get caught?

Please no moral responsibility type answers, I'm a moral person but shouldn't have to shell out again when my mobile firm's insurers is taking my money.

I was involved in an auto accident where the other driver did a felony dui hit and run. Mother's against drunk drivers suggested we keep a daily journal of our injuries. I started at day three keeping a journal describing our experience, daily obstacles due to our injuries, etc. basically a paragraph per per person.

Now we are done with our medical treatment and ready to negotiate a settlement. Basically the insurance co is not wanting to pay our medical. So I have a potential fight on my hands. To make my case, would it be a good idea to submit copies of our journals to this adjuster? And why, or why not?

Basically the content of the journal simply states what we did and were limited to each day. Describes pain, tasks, doctor visits etc.

I was hit by a drunk driver. There were injuries involved, but medical treatment is now done. The adjuster I'm dealing with treats me like crap. Basically like I did something bad. He does not want to pay my medical despite his insured driver being 100% at fault. I am ready to settle, but he acts like he hopes I'll go away. He basically has an attitude of "what do you want" when ever I call.

I know, get an attorney, but I'm waiting to see what they might offer before I go that route. The attorney will take 40% of he has to sue, which means I've got to get a bundle over the medical bills just to pay me costs.

How common is it to request a different adjuster? Who, how, and where do I ask for this? Will they accomodate my request? Any tips on how to approach this idea? There is no way I want to deal with this same adjuster again. He is a genuine ******, for real!

One of my best friends lost his 2 year old son in a pool drowning over a year ago. His lawyer and a cop investigating the drowning at the apt complex informed him today that there was $50,000 life insurance policy taken out on the son. But he hasn't any type of money like that coming in. His wife lies about stuff, she acted very odd at the funeral(laughing and being inappropriate for a mom that lost her son...it was like a reunion and not a funeral), she is also off her rocker crazy.....(even before the death). So my questions are...How long does a life insurance policy take to recieve after a death? If his wife collected the money and didn't tell him or is hiding it, Is that illegal?

I just found out I'm pregnant. I have health insurance though my job, but it won't pay for everything. My husband and I tried to save money while he was in Iraq so we could one day purchase a house. If I wipe out our savings to pay for the hidiously over-priced medical bills I will soon recieve, there is no hope for a home purchase. What can we do? Will I be denied Medicaid if we have a decent savings account? Are there any loopholes? I just hate that my husband went to war and we did without for so long, just to have to start from rock bottom again. I know hospitals go hog wild with tests and anything they can do to run up a huge medical bill. I live in Idaho and I'm not sure of their policies on Medicaid.
