A proposal has recently been introduced to the Los Angeles City Council by Walmart Executives. They want to build a Walmart Supercenter in Boyle Heights at the corner of whittier Blvd. and Lorena St. The proposed construction of Walmart has stirred up conroversy in the community. The planned size 200, 000 square feet, and will result in the displacement of some businesses and residents in the area . A city council memeber who opposes the construction of Walmart has instead introduced a proposal to pass a city ordinance that keeps out " Superstores" like Walmart.

Everywhere, the media, people around me, basically the whole world, says that corporations are evil and the source of the greediest people in the world. I do love making money, but I do not want to hurt people by giving them a product that will kill, like tobacco. I am a Catholic and I do have moral values but I do need money so I have decided to go into business. I dont, however, want to be seen as some power hungry fool that is only into money.

It appears since Diamler/Benz bought Chrysler Corp. the German owners have chosen to do away with the UAW represented labor traditionally used by the big three automakers, and outsouced as much of the old Chrysler as possible. There have been no new hires of UAW employees since the buyout, and nothing but a seeming destruction of the former American auto company. Any comments would be appreciated.

What would you do? If you wanted to open up a company in China for example and the authorities there were strict and it would take a lot of time. But a person from the Chinese government explained that it was normal for them to give some gifts (material or financial)and they do not take it as bribing.
