My sister is with a national gas supplier and recently moved into a new property. She had a vandalised meter and had it repaired whilst waiting for a quantum card. They put £5 on, but never reset the meter. So when she bought gas on the new card, it rightly repaid the £5, but then went on the previous tenants debt, and she couldn't afford to top it up. Even if she did, it was taken again as debt.
So she has been without gas for 5 days. She has wasted hours on the phone, and waited in while engineers fail to turn up.

Bugger it, I'll name the company. Scottish and Southern Energy. Do you think its right to invoice them £30 for days without hot water and heating, bearing in mind she has 2 young children. £5 for telephone calls. £5 for wasting time being stuck on the telephone. And £5 for Administration complaining to the ignorant unco operative twits?

I recently bought an engagement ring and since it has been nothing but a nightmare. The store (people's jewellers) destroyed the ring and the ring has been in the stores possesion for about two months. When I asked for a refund they said no because it was pass the 30 day refund policy. I only had the ring in my possesion for two weeks and the store has had it the rest of the time. I called the head office and they seem to be rude and unhelpful. Does anyone have any ideas?? This has turned the happy experience of an engagement into a nightmare.

When she ask me a question I go blank and become the dumbest person in America. Every answer is, "I am not sure. " Then when she leaves my desk I remember the answer, and I know if I would just chill out and be myself I could I wouldn't look stupid. There are smarter ppl that work here and I feel like they talk over my head. I am not afraid to admit when I don't know something, but I am smarter than I appear to be to them cuz I think I am a little intimidated by them. I get real timiate and shy and dont wanna talk. Can anyone help? How can I not be intimidated and learn how to be myself in the work place?

Employee stock options are intended to serve as reward and motivation. What is the consequence if the option granted is out of the money? What should a company do about out-of-the-money stock options?

Before I pay hundreds of dollars to ask this question to a lawyer, I am wondering if any one knows about this subject. Don't worry I will not take your opinion as a legal advise.

You are responsible for advising the board of a UK transport company on strategic developments in their market.
Significant changes in the European business environment have highlighted the need for the board to carry out a strategic review of emerging opportunities and threats. You have been asked to prepare a position paper for the forthcoming board meeting.
The board want to consider two related topics:
•The changes in the European Business environment that have an impact on the transport industry
•An assessment of the opportunities and threats which these changes create
Some issues you might consider addressing are:
•What new opportunities will emerge over the next five years – how do their characteristics compare with current markets?
•Will your existing customers have access to a wider choice of alternative suppliers?
•How will your competitors react - will the changes in the European market bring you into contact with new competitors, from Europe, from outside Europe

Unfair competition

Bullying of councillours/land owners/consumers... etc (anyone who cant afford the legal costs of taking them on)

Inequality of income/wealth.... (You'd think an opening means new jobs, but the oppurtunity costs are far bigger... alternative uses of land/labour, local/smaller businesses and the people they employ, noice/traffic congestion.......

EVEN THOUGH THE NEGATIVE LIST IS MASSIVE, the posotive list is there... but why kill thousands of pigeons to save a seagull ?

I'm NOT a member of the below organisation, but thought it might provide further info

Hi, I am doing an assignment about logistics.
The time back to 1999, the questions are:

1) Why doesn't Airborne have retail sites?
2) Why doesn't Airborne use contractors for pickup and delivery?
(if it is lower cost, why wouldn't fedex and ups do so?)

Much Thanks!

I went in today to return an item... I first got accused of trying to return an item that wasn't available at walmart (i had the receipt!).. when they finally and rudely realized that they were wrong they tried to tell me that the apparel (work overalls) were USED (they were not.. simply had dust on one cuff.. maybe from being tried on). I talked to the manager who told me that he would simply not "humiliate" his employee by making her apologize. I expressed that they put me thru the wringer for a while by accusing me of stealing and then returning something that was used.. that they humiliated me in front of everyone for no reason.. he told me that he's sorry for that but essentially that's the way it goes. How does one get relief over major conglomerates who couldn't care less about the consumers? I will never shop Walmart again.

They are hardworking residents who have struggled to keep their small businesses open. They feel that the Walmart Superstore, which includes a fully stocked food market and a discount mega-store will take them out of business. They also feel that the city should be supporting community economics development and self-sufficiency.
