It appears since Diamler/Benz bought Chrysler Corp. the German owners have chosen to do away with the UAW represented labor traditionally used by the big three automakers, and outsouced as much of the old Chrysler as possible. There have been no new hires of UAW employees since the buyout, and nothing but a seeming destruction of the former American auto company. Any comments would be appreciated.

I work at the Jeep Wrangler assembly plant in Toledo,Oh. where we run a supplier parts plant. It is not true they have not hired,we have new hires in our plant and this week they have given 800 people interviews for temp. part time work.We are working 6 days a week sometimes 7,10 hour days ,2 shifts so I don't have any complaints. Our plant has always worked overtime,I can't remember when I had a 40 hour check.I don't think Damiler will even sell Chrysler for these reasons;Jeep Wrangler is hot,Toledo built Dodge Nitro is hot,2006 Dodge Ram set sells record,Chrysler van owns almost 50% of van market,Chrysler Financial is making a lot of money and Dodge Challenger.True Chrysler does have to get rid of some of it's SUV 's but they have a lot going for them.Everyone blames the employees,UAW,Toyota and Honda, but it is the unfair value of the yen to the dollar that is pulling the whole nation down, not just auto sector.Every time a car is imported from Japan that company makes $2000-9000.That gives them even more money to put into better and more technolgy.Well enough complaning, yes I feel Chrysler has a great future with the right leadership.

DCX is OK as an organization to work for. They are less confused in their internal managment than FMC of GM. All three of the big three are trying to find ways to subvert the union because the UAWs ridiculous demands, the union was created to protect the worker not to abuse the employer - which is what it has become. When the employer has an employee that is a problem - comes in late continuously, drunk on the job, finding their cubblehole and sleeping through their shift, punching the clock and then leaving for their other job - there's nothing the employer can do because the union will fight for the schmuck instead of protecting the reputation of the union and getting rid of them. In the losses dept., they need to stop producing the enormous gas guzzling SUVs. The asian carmakers are getting in good because they produce an economical vehicle. The US carmakers aren't going with the changing tides and they are losing for it.

With rising production costs and increased competition companies have no choice but to cut costs wherever possible. America's minimum wage is too high and it cant produce enough goods for cheap and still turn a profit. If you lower the minimum wage we might be able to bring back your beloved Chrysler corporation.
