Everywhere, the media, people around me, basically the whole world, says that corporations are evil and the source of the greediest people in the world. I do love making money, but I do not want to hurt people by giving them a product that will kill, like tobacco. I am a Catholic and I do have moral values but I do need money so I have decided to go into business. I dont, however, want to be seen as some power hungry fool that is only into money.

If you have to ask, you will never reach that goal. Your question implies that you believe it is an immoral career but would like someone to convince you that it's okay.

Corporations do not become huge overnight. They become large because they provide a good or service that people want. There are no billion dollar corporations that do not provide a good or service in demand. Where would Dell be if they did not provide a quality product? Or Apple? Or WalMart? Someone shops at these corporations.

If you are a moral individual, and conduct yourself as such, using high ethical standards and values, you have no cause for concern. You can change the culture around you if you set the tone and lead by example. Change starts with the individual. Influence those around you first, then move to the bigger picture. Treat people with respect and present them with moral alternatives and they will respect you and your actions.

Good Luck!

There are very few "evil" corporations. I am an executive and I see very few occasions of being evil. Some people take certain things in business and twist them. Sometimes, I have learned, you have to be a cut-throat business man. It's what you have to do to be the best. Though you always have chances to redeem yourself, like the man with the answer that his "evil" corporation paid them double, stuff like that. An example of evil corporation is with Eastman Chemical Company. They have, I believe the total is, 39 VP's. While in the last 7 years they have layed off thousands while not a single VP has taken a pay cut (some have gone up). Now that is just being a bastard company.

It depends greatly on the company. My experience is that 50% of corporations are more good than bad, and 50% of corporations are more bad than good. Whatever your view on those stats, the real problem is that you won't know which kind you're in until you've been there for 3 months. Talk to some business gurus. Ask more specific questions here, too, and you'll get closer to your answer.

corporations are not evil, people are.

Love of money is the root of all evil

Whoever loves money, never has enough of it
Whoever loves wealth, is never satisfied with his income.
This too is meaningless.

My "evil" corporation just told us we get DOUBLE our expected bonuses this year....And ALSO they upped their match on our 401(k) to dollar for dollar, on top of 50% of the first 6% contributed...

I hate working to increase the bottom line, but I love making so much money

Face information... maximum politicians have their palms in some physique's pocket. it incredibly is unhappy that maximum folk (on the two aspects of the political fence)get into politics at the instant in basic terms out of greed. it fairly is a entire comedian tale what our government helps those agencies to flee with. And it incredibly is because of the fact those politicians are unlikely to chew the hand that feeds them. look at how our government itself is administered. What a deal, serve a million term and get a great fat pension and loose healthcare for existence on the cost of the taxpayers. fix social protection? Ha Ha. those jokers won't in any respect could remember on social protection to proceed to exist whilst they're previous. This new regime desires to supply your social protection funds to all the illegals and that they do no longer care in case you get screwed. it is going to get lots worse... in the past than you think of.
