I've received a letter, and I'm not really that much of a leader as I am still a student. I'm wondering if it a scam and if anyone knows anything about it, has joined it, ect.

There have been several reports filed with the Better Business Bureau. You should go there and read them.
They have three addresses listed with the BBB. Here is the BBB's report URL to one of their locations:

Also, I know of several people who received a letter from them. None of them were "executives", and they all believe that their names and addresses were obtained from a mailing list.
Metropolitan Who's Who states that they have a free listing and that it is a networking opportunity, however, there are fees associated with some of their products and services. The BBB states that Metropolitan Who's Who charges anywhere from $400 to $900. These types of fees and lists are usually associated with vanity publishing types of companies.

Give it a pass. Their sales tactics are questionable. As someone who had a blog post about the same invitation I received from them, I received a lot of comments from people who felt "ripped off" by them. Metropolitan Registries also sent me threatening letters about my blog post. See the recent New York Better Business Bureau report that shows quite a number of complaints about them. You are best to ignore the letter.

There's a magazine titled that that deals with all parts of life from work & career to bills & money to babies to places to travel. I've also seen a paper in SF with that name that was for strippers & escorts. I would say either way its a scam & evil.
