I would think if their product appeals to people who are consciencious buyers then they would be more profitable in their specific market. But I think sometimes a company will be given the award "a great place to work" and really not be all that great...what do you mean by "ethical"?

Yes of course there is no shortest path in the business. Every deal should be Win Win. Businesses that do not do in ethics will last for short. To survive in the business one must calculate the risks of being unethical, that is loss of trust by customers, lack of confidence, and threat of being beated by other genuine companies. That is it.
