In the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, there are extensive industrial zones, as well as in Hamilton, and Kitchener-Waterloo. I've worked in factories in these areas. Therefore, I believe Ontario is one of the centres for manufacturing. Factories tend to locate near major highways around large cities, and even smaller towns. Quebec is likely also a strong manufacturing province.

Ontario and Quebec are the main centres. The prairies and maritimes are most involved in production of raw materials.

That and Ontario and Qubed are both locaed along the ST. Lawrence seaway which is a major naturally occuring shipping route in Canada.
