I'm going to be a massage therapist in the near future and was told I had to do my own taxes. What's the smartest way of doing this? Or, could I hire a personal accountant? If so, how much do they run? Thanks.

I had listed one assistant manager as a reference for my job. They called him but he said he was busy because he wanted to discuss what to say with them first. I don't want them to have to repeatedly call him and look like he's no cooperative. My other 3 references did cooperate though. I was wondering in the event this one assistant manager never responds back to them, will it destroy my chances of getting this job with this company? I know for the future not to use him as one, but I really need to push this one through without incident. He said we can meet up on Monday to discuss it further so he can call them back. Am I just being paranoid?

I had a second interview yesterday. The guy told me that I was one of three to get a second interview and the last person that they needed to see a second time. He told me he would call me today and let me know that either they wanted to offer me the job, they offered the job to someone else or they decided to keep looking. It's 4:30PM and I haven't heard anything. Should I call him or just wait for him to call me like he said he would?

To add to my question about a second job and moving. I am not getting any sleep as it is so getting up at 3 will make it worse. I am not a coffee drinker and without being completely moved into my new place making breakfast is impossible and grocery shopping-no time for that. I am beat-about to fall asleep and I have 1/2 left in job # 1. I will be slower than molassess at job #2 tonight.

I need to get a job. According to my mom, I need to get a job by next week, or no phone, internet, or car.
Now, I have a boyfriend who I only get to see on the weekends(he lives in Orlando, I live about 2 hours away).
I'm 16, and I know I'm probably going to have to work at least one weekend day.
I usually see him every other weekend. Would I be able to say that usually every other weekend I go out of town to "vist family" or something? Or do you think wherever I end up getting hired won't let me have every other weekend off?
We've been going out for a year and 7 months, and the long distance thing isn't too hard, but it will be when I can only see him for 1 and a half days every other week for the next year until I graduate.
Any thoughts?

What do insurance companies use to determine your insurable?
I just applied for this awesome job that I really want. It is now depending on that the company finds me insurable for driving a company vehicle. I havent had any traffic tickets or anything since 7/04. But prior to that, I had a suspension for too many points. The points were from speeding tickets, mostly 5 overs. The points have dropped off by now, but the violations are still on my record. Anyone out there work for an insurance company and know if I would be insurable? Or work for a company that uses driver checks and what they look for?

hi to all ,
I have been accused of stealing from this employer after 9 months of leaving the company. I have been arrested by the police but not charged but i am on police bail till for a month or so. I have left the company for 9 months now . The police came to my new work place and arrested me , to question me . My old boss used to sell me items for cash ( no receipts / paperwork) . I would then after a while sell the items on an auction site for a small profit (hoping) .The old boss would just pocket the money. (Saves giving the money to the taxman) Everyone is happy . untill this happens . I need help . How can I get even? or clear my name ? I am very concerned as I do not think that I have done anything wrong

I'm almost to my two year point at my job and I will get a really great retirement plan. I've been waiting for it for 2 years and seems silly to quit and not do it at all

The job is 30 minutes away and gas is expensive

My car isn't the best of cars nor does it get good gas mileage

If I'm pregnant I want to be a stay at home mom.

I don't even know how much it would pay

I'm sure they will hire again in the future.

What do you think?

I currently work for a large company. I recently sent a resume and cover letter to a small company. The company looked like a great opportunity and an interesting place to work. I would possibly even consider taking a pay cut to work there if it is as good as it looks. I received a response from the CEO telling me that I was perfect for the job, but he doesn't think he can compete with the salary my company pays. Is this an indication that he thinks I'm overqualified or he has another person in mind for the job already? We didn't discuss salary numbers at all. What should I tell him?

I am a recent university graduate with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology from a prestigious university. However, I would like to go into finance and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions for what kind of job opportunities I can pursue? I have a fairly high quantitative aptitude (I took a full-length, timed GMAT yesterday for the first time, without practice, and scored a 720). Thanks in advance for your advice!!!

I keep hearing from Civil Engineering companies that they can't find qualified applicants to fill their positions and complain there is a shortage of engineers in America. Which there are no statistics or evidence supporting that claim.

I'm trying to find out a concrete answer to this vague and ambiguous question.

My situation: I gamble way too much. I just left a Manager Level Corporate Job to become a consultant. On my new job I'll have to travel to client sites each week and back to my state of residence. Because I have gambled away all of my cash and credit (literally down to $11 cash i have left) I'm sort of stuck. I have no family that I can go to and it's too embarrassing to ask friends although I'm not sure they could help either. What I really need to know is how to ask my new employer to cover my travel expenses for me without revealing my personal situation... Please offer answers on that only. I don't need to be beaten up over letting myself get into this situation.

I work in customer service, taking calls from my home for a corporation. The daily shift is 8 hours and I am on the phone at least 5 hours, most of the times 6 hours. Does $12.00 an hour seem like a fair compensation for call center type of work such as mine, or am I being exploited ? Company does provide some benefits. Thanks so much !
