Sometimes we have customers that don't get us checks in time and it will affect payroll. Our employees know that ON OCCASION, we can't make payroll til the next day. I know it's not right that we run so tight on bills, but it has always worked out and been taken care of. On the other hand, I worked for a man before that paid commission once a month and when I didn't get that check after being 1 week overdue, I quit on the spot. If you know whats going on at your business, it would surely help to make the decision, but you really should never have to wait on a paycheck. You aren't their friend, you are their employee. They would expect a paycheck if it was them.

It depends. Is this an accounting mistake or does the business you work for seem to be in financial difficulty?
If it is an accounting mistake I'd try to get assurances that they will work to eliminate this problem - tell them that you count on each paycheck being on time since you have bills to pay and see how they react. If they don't seem concerned I'd start looking for another job.
If the business appears to be in trouble financially I'd be looking for another job ASAP.

first I would go to them and ask... Sometimes they forget, mistakes do happen... If this is a mommy and pappy run type of business with no formal accounting/payroll then yes this does happen... if you work for a company I would ask payroll as to why do you not get a check... If you like your job then stick with it but if you get paid on a certain day then ask them.... Or just find another one and move on...

Although I wouldn't just quit, looking for another job would definitely make sense. If you can't get paid, there's no point in staying.

If you have bills to pay, call your creditors immediately and let them know that your employer has screwed up your pay. I would definitely begin looking for another job.

i think you need to talk to them and tell them that you need to get paid on pay day, not the day after. im sure they would like it if you were late for work
