I was recently offered a position with an large, multiconglomerate corperation, but the job is a 36 month, limited term salary + bonus position. Has anyone had a good experience with this type of job or does it usually end with the completion of your contract?

I'm starting as a hostess today and I'm wondering if I can bring my handbag? I didn't see any lockers while I was at my orientation at Applebee's.

Can I just bring a small wristlet and just carry it and leave it at the hostess area? (I need to bring my Applebee's key card, money, my license and other ID's, and such.)

Well the job hunt has stated, I gradated with a degree in History, minor in Chinese language and psychology. Truthfully I’m a bit lost as to what should I do for a job. I’m really interested in traveling around the world and being able to speak a language or 2 more ( I can speak Chinese)

I was thinking about trying Photojournalism. Is it possible for me to do something like this with my degree? I am currently doing a internship at a trade company, but my major has nothing to do with it, and if I want I can stay here after the internships (assuming *** goes well)

Plus I live in china, so I guess to could get another degree or masters for pretty cheap.

Any ideas?

Thanks!!

I feel that the job desciptions and duties will help me; but I am afraid the interviewer will look down if they found out I got fired. If I should put it on the resume, what should I say to them if they question pops up?

I've been at my first job for two and a half years, but I really feel that I want to quit and find another. I've applied for a job at Bath and Body Works in the mall every year since I was 17, but I've never received a reply, and at the time I wasn't aware that you call back a week or so later about the application. I decided to apply again over a month and a half ago when they were hiring, but I again did not call back because I did not know.

I would like to quit my first job and have another one set up by the end of July specifically, but would it look bad if I call over two months or so later asking for the status of my application, since I didn't call within a week? Should I just resubmit another, or talk to a manager? I've considered more places than this one, but this is the one I'm most interested in at the moment.

What kind of questions/things should I expect? I didn't have to answer any questions that were work related to the job in the application, so I'm wondering what kind of things my interviewer will ask me.

I was offered a job a couple of months ago but when i handed in my notice, my current employer talked me round to staying. Now i realised that I have made a mistake. I contacted the company that originally offered me the job and they have agreed to see me again in a week or so. Do you think i have a chance? what sort of things should I be saying in the interview to persuade them that they should still employ me after messing them about. I did phone them up and decline the offer, didn't just not turn up. Also what is the best thing to say in the interview as to why I have changed my mind again? I need to wow this guy at the interview and convince him that I am a sales guy worth having, What would you do. Thanks

I've worked at a newspaper for the past four years. At one time I really enjoyed my job, but the past couple of months have been very trying. I live in a small town, and the job is affecting my home life. My editor made me write a couple of exposes on some elected officials who were arrested, and now my life outside of work is crazy.

I've been followed, I can't prove it, but I believe by one of the people I wrote about. They got up on my bumper and took a picture of my car. And now, I can't even go into the local Wal-Mart without getting a hard time.

I don't want to quit on a bad note, or before I find another job, but this is ridiculous.

Also my husband and I are trying to have a baby. His job has no insurance, and mine does. If I switch jobs there is a very good possibility I'll become pregnant within months of being hired, which is really unfair to that company. I don't plan to go back to work after having kids.

What should I do? Talk to my boss, quit, or stick it out?

I am starting a new job in a few weeks. I work for a place that has "sites" all over the county. I was assigned a placement that is VERY far from my house. I know from other people who work there that other positions will be opening up that are closer to my home. How should I ask my boss to switch placements without sounding like a complainer?
