I've been at my first job for two and a half years, but I really feel that I want to quit and find another. I've applied for a job at Bath and Body Works in the mall every year since I was 17, but I've never received a reply, and at the time I wasn't aware that you call back a week or so later about the application. I decided to apply again over a month and a half ago when they were hiring, but I again did not call back because I did not know.

I would like to quit my first job and have another one set up by the end of July specifically, but would it look bad if I call over two months or so later asking for the status of my application, since I didn't call within a week? Should I just resubmit another, or talk to a manager? I've considered more places than this one, but this is the one I'm most interested in at the moment.

If you're not even getting an interview, then either your resume needs to be reevaluated or you've targeted the wrong field.

Are your skills clearly listed? Does it use action words to describe your expertise? Is it focused on the specific industry in which you are searching for a job? Is it formatted in a reader-friendly way, or do you have to search to pick out your strengths? Have a friend who knows how to write effective resumes evaluate your resume.

After doing the above resend your resume and follow up.

Peace and blessings!

Tweak your resume by changing some words around. Then resend it always with a cover letter explaining your strengths and why you want to work for this company. Do your homework and find out as much as you can. Include any pertinent information in your cover letter and I bet you will stand out from all the rest. Businesses look for employees who are genuinly interested in their business and have some knowledge. This will also show the company that you have taken the initiative to find out more about them...You will Shine!! Good Luck!

You have to be happy with any decision you make. For me I am not sure that I really would want to work at a place that has so little consideration for future employees. From what you have said I doubt they even keep ,a record that you ever applied, your resume was probably in the trash that night. Is that the way you really want to be treated.pp
