Hey, I just accepted a job offer the other day at a yacht club in the boat yard section doing maintance. I told my new boss that ill be able to start after I give a 1 week notice to my current employer I only work part time right now but my new job is full time. Anyways I'm a bit confused on things such as what to wear on the job and exactly what the job is, my question is tomorrow I have nothing to do so do you think it would be ok to go down to the yacht club and look around and talk to my new co workers and my new boss?

I have a good offer from a good company that I would like to work for, but have several other interviews for positions that are higher ranked and pay better. I have to give an answer before knowing how the other options work out. Is a bird in the hand better than two in the bush?

Hi im 21 years old and im kind of going through a mid-life crisis right now lol. Ive been working at this job for 5 years now since i was 16 but I see it going no where. Like the other day i felt like just walking out because im just so sick of working there. I applied for this job and friday and ill find out monday or tuesday if I got it or not. I really just dont want to be like all the other guys at work they all like high 20s and up working at a dead end job. I want to put in my 2 weeks notice and start looking for a job already. I know your not supposed to quit a job intill you find another one but I just cant take it any more. If anyone has any advice at all I would really appriciate it thanks.

I just got hired permently last Monday from a temp position I've been at since April. However; I got bored real fast in those few months and started looking for nanny employment....I got an offer and will have to quit my job tomorrow.... how does this sound when I talk to my supervisors

"After careful consideration with my husband, due to the reduction in hours we have decided that a reduction in my hours would really hurt us financially, and the milage put on our car tome to drive here (it's 60 miles a day) is not helping. I have found other employment as a Nanny, making a bit more nd that is closer to my home. I can give a week and a half notice (sorry, i know the stanard is 2 weeks, but it's just not doable) and train my replacement if hired in that timeframe. Again, I do applolgize, but we need to be looking out for our finances more than ever right now."

Please keep in mind this offer did not come through until after I was hired.

The job involves working in a capacity that I am interested in. I will have to learn alot, but I think that I can also contribute alot.........A mentor of mine actually pushed for me to get this job, (someone who works within the agency) and it will be quite challenging but I think with time, I may be able to learn the ins and outs and actually be able to make a difference........o.k. here is the question.....I did not know when I took the job that it involved traveling out of the area......now I do not have a problem with this except for the fact that I am horrible with direction (I mean rediculously horrible) and truly do have panic attacks........I have spoken to him somewhat about this but until this week-end (worrying about it all week-end)....I really don't think that I can do this part of the job without stressing way too much.....I also know that this part is required......what can I do........please only reply if you seriously want to help...........
thanks!

I work in Nashville, TN and my workplace is always having me stay a couple of more hours than I am scheduled to stay. This is bothersome because there are other people that could to 'prep' and it is not really my job. [once time to leave comes around] I do not mind doing this sometimes, but it gets to the point where it is an everyday thing. They do not ask if I can stay. They demand it, and say if I leave at my specified time then I will get wrote up and possibly fired.. Can they do that? I thought overtime was optional...
