so i worked for this pipelaying job and i only worked for one day and quit its been 4 weeks since i quit and i still havent gotten my 100 dollars for the day i worked i tried calling the boss but it says his phone is disconnected but it still rings and sometimes he answered but now he doesnt want to answer and i just hear a busy signal its been busy for almost 2 days what can i do to get paid?

Assuming that you know the address to read the boss, send a registered or certified letter with an invoice for the amount you are due, and set a date for payment (like within a week).

i.e.


Name of boss
company
address


Invoice


Pipelaying work (1 day) @ $100/day $100.00

total due: $100.00


Amount due upon receipt. If payment is not received, further action may be taken to collect payment.

In the meantime, look into the requirements to bring a claim to your local small claims court - see filing procedures, etc., and if there are any costs incurred to file, and be prepared to take him to court, if that is what it takes.
