Over the past 3 years, he has a felony and several lesser convictions against him including a DUI. All others are related to possesion. He's also spent 4-5 months over the past year in jail.

He applied for several entry level, minimum wage job at places like home depot and walgreens. Nobody would hire him after doing the background investigation.

He has turned his life around but now he can't even get a job at a mc. donalds. What options are left? It seems kind of sad to me that we live in a society where after making a few mistakes you're pretty much forced to become a begger or homeless. Fortunately my parrents have let him stay with them but this isn't a long term solution.

What can he do to get out of this hole? How long do those convictions show up on his record? Is there any hope for him? Are there any jobs that will hire a person in his situation?

In the future I want to go into this field, and I am just wondering about the salary. Please don't think I'm shallow or anything because I really don't care if it doesn't pay that much.

Hi,

What is the procedure to sue the employer in UK for not releasing the pending amounts. What kind of court do I need to go to and do I necessarily need a lawyer?

Regards,
Chandan

I work in a comprehensive school and am on a full-time (52 weeks of the year) contract. I am entitled to take 26 days leave a year but have been told that I can only take this time during school holidays (i.e when pupils have their holday). I was just wondering if they are legally allowed to restrict my leave this way and If anyone is in the same predicament?

I think my ex employer who is actually the Government is providing any prospective employer with inaccurate information in their references. I have asked them to let me see what they are saying about me but they refuse.

Can I demand to see using for example Data Protection Act as they are disclosing things about me without my knowledge/agreement to a third party?

I'm just shy of 28 years old and I'm considering giving up my career (currently working in Germany and making over $100K a year) to move back to my small town in Kansas to be with my family. My stepfather has brain cancer and the doctors only gave him a year to live. I'm considering moving back which will more than likely end my career in communications as there aren't really any jobs back home, but my family is VERY important to me.

I'm going to go ahead and move back and figure something out, but I just want to know what you would do in my situation.

i bought a 2000 alero for 4500 bucks, 4 months ago
well it started having problems in july, i took it to the shop they found the problem and fixed it cost me another 1200 bucks, not to mention the 400 bucks i had already put into it to replace a couple other parts.
now get this one i put not quite 3000 miles on the motor and the other day it blew up threw a rod so now i have to replace the motor in the car at a cost of 2 or 3 thousand more dollars.

the afore mentiond problems were there when i bought the car but i did not know that the mehcanic said they were there and just got worse after i bought the car.

so what course of action can i take towards the dealer that sold me the worthless peice of crap and called it a good car?

the only warenty he gave me was 30 days or 2000 miles whichever comes first, so that meant that after 30 days the warently was worthless right?

and the first of the problems showed up on day 31!

so iam just wondering what i can do ?

I have been working at a hospital since April and for some reason my boss really seems to hate me and I mean hate me like nothing ever. I have no idea what I have ever done to her, I show up for work on time and often leave late, I have showed up with strep throat, when a family member died. I dont take lunches or breaks. Every day she calls to tell me about something that I have done wrong, even though I do it according to procedure, and when I tell her that, she gets even more infuriated. When other people ask for certain days off, or to work certain shifts she tells them she will work with them. When I ask, she tells me that she cant do it and that I will have to go to a "relief" position. She writes me letters telling me why she disapproves of what I am doing job wise. I have never received proper training, I was just thrust into the job and left to sink or swim, and I do admit that I make mistakes but I learn from them and dont repeat them. What should I do since HR wont help me?

I left my last job on good terms after 4 years and took a recent job. After being there a few months, I decided it wasn't for me but realized that it didn't look good having that on my resume as it looked like I was a job hopper. I chose to leave it off and when asked about my gap I just let them know I was doing temp-work. I chose to leave it pretty vague and they didn't really pry that much.

I was offered the job and they mentioned that a background check would be completed. On the application, I included all past employers besides the most current one. Will they only check with past employers that I have listed or will they dig deeper? I have a stellar past business references, high credit score, no criminal history, good personal references, etc.

The only thing that slightly concerns me is that I pulled my credit report, and it lists the last 2 banks that I worked for (including the most recent). I'm hoping they won't pay attention to those as they could be inaccurate.

It is too much for small claims court and too small for a lawyer. He also classified me as a independant contractor and took nothing out from my prevous paychecks. Florida wage and hour told me that they cannot do anything because he is an idividual and not a company. Thr IRS has not gotten back to me with a job clarification ie independant or employee. any ideas?
