My mother in law wants my husband to co-sign for a mortgage because of her credit. My problem is we want to buy, rent a house within the next 6 months. Will the credit of my husband's be affected if he co-signs for this loan or will we be able to get a home with him on her mortgage.

We liked a house. We put in the offer, got a counter offer ( Seller reduced by 1%). We countered at 5% below the asking price and didn't get a counter-offer back from the seller. Although, we would lhave gone 3% below the asking price. I'm not too comforatable with the idea of us climbing up towards their asking price and seller staying where they are. Our offer is very clean with just a home inspection contingency. We're putting 20% down and got a preapproval. We are first time home buyers. I think the house is priced right. I personally don't want to pay close to the asking price when the house has been in the market for 8+ months. What to do ?

I have student loans that are not from the goverment they are from provate lenders like a bank can they be erased by filing for bankrupcy? If so does anyone know what the downside of bankrupcy are like do they take your car or granish andy wages or taxes?

What constitutes financial incompetence? Does filing bankruptcy (with 10,000 in a reposessed car, and 3K on a credit card-thats it) automatically put me in the 'financially incompetent' category? Can I still file a bankruptcy (like so many other people do) without any reprocussion from SSDI or the V.A.? I pay all my bills on time, I always have atleast 1K in my bank account. There are only 2 creditors in the world that are after me. Is there any way that I can be considered financially incompetent simply by filing a bankruptcy. Is there a 100% clause where you file bankruptcy and your automatically 100% incompetent?

I saw a fax machine for $53 on June 14, 1:43 am for sale. I told my friend about it when I was visiting him next day. He gave me a check for it asking me to buy it for him since he did not have a computer. When I came home th price was up $40. Amazon.com price seems to change rapidly, why? Now, I can not buy the item for him. I was pissed, he was like that is OK. But why Amazon does this?

i and my friend had leased a house for fixed term of 3 yrs and after 1 year we decided to move out from the house and we discussed the matter with our landlord and landlord agreed to let us move out from house and he gave us a paper mentioning terms and condition like : we will pay rent till so and so date, we will show the place to new tenents etc & we & landlord signed the paper & landlord got new tenant before we left the place and the new lease was signed.
but due to some reason the new tenant was not able to move in the house & cancelled the lease, now the landlord has given us eviction notice, so can any 1 advise me that can landlord give us eviction notice : even if he got a new tenant & we moved out of the premises as agreed with landlord
& can landlord take any legal action on old tenant when the new lease has been signed and the landlord got new tenent

I have known a next door disabled person due to a back disease. She is receiving an SSI after working for almost 30 years for the company. I owe 10,000 on a car that got reposessed. Thats the only thing I owe on but thats quite a bit. My only income is SSDI and disability from the V.A. How do I go about filing a bankruptcy? Is that going to classify me as financially incompetent? Will I be cleared of all my debt and be able to start over fresh? Or will I somehow haveto pay them money? I just dont understand, I have been told that even if you file bankruptcy you still haveto pay creditors... So whats the point? Is there any way to wipe out my debt completely (in kansas) without having to give anything to creditors?

I currently have 85 in taxable income, Have 3 Rental Homes, and 120 in the stock market and 30 in Cash.With all the real estate income its really over 100k in gross taxable income. Of course most goes to cover the debt service Real Estate is valued over 700k. I am only 24? I heard lots of 24 year olds are already making 80k and bigger salaries is this true? Do I suck? Are my assests competive or am I poor? Who else is making more than me?

My lease expires on August 9 and I have to pay well over the prorated rent for 9 days for the month of August. I thought you calculated prorates by dividing your rent by the number of days in the month. My landlord told me my rent is higher than this because she prorates by 360 days, not by days of the month and that she does this to prevent me from paying for more than 5 days I won't be living in the apartment. I don't understand this logic or definition of prorration at all. I pay rent on a monthly basis, too, so what dollar amount is she dividing by 360 days? I think I'm being scammed!
