I have $7K due on my Visa, from 2 years of trying to make a living selling real estate. I am not an overspender and am now in a stable job with a regular paycheck. I have $60k in my Schwab IRA, rolled over from jobs where I put the maximum away since my 20's. I know everyone advises against it, but I'm paying 16.24% on the Visa ($1000 per year).
I propose to withdraw $8,000 from the IRA, which would be penalized about 38% (10% penalty + 28% taxes), giving me about $5,000 toward the debt.
I propose that by keeping my credit clean and saving that $1000/year will be worth it to me when I go to buy a house using the $52,000 to borrow against.
It's my money, and I would have and will pay the income tax on it at some point - to me 10% seems like a better penalty than the 16.24%.
Theoretically, I can put the money "back" under the $4,000 allowed per year.
Please advise! Having this debt seems to hurt a lot more than losing money I never really feel like I had in the first place.

One is under My Name, IV. and the other is My Name, V. Both have the same social security # and account #. There should be no credit report for My Name, V because that person doesn't exist. That report shows accurate credit info that applies to me (I am IV) but it is very old. It looks like I have no credit other than student loans. This is what creditors are seeing and I keep getting denied for loans since I have no credit history. I contacted Equifax and they said they are "unable to combine your multiple credit files due to the amount of data in each." Does anyone have any ideas where I can go from here??

I realized that Equifax has 4 accounts open for me (correct) and TransUnion and Experian only two. Is there something I can do, can I report it to them or only lenders are allowed?

PV being present value, FV future value and time. Also, how would one figure out the amount of time it takes for an amount to reach a certain amount...let's say $400 to 1,000 at an interest rate of 4?

ABC Corp was granted a patent on a product on Jan 1, 1998. To protect its patent, the corporation purchesed on Jan 1, 2007 a patent on a competing patent which was orginally issued on Jan 10, 2003. Because of its unique plant, ABC Corp does not feel the competing patent can be used in producing a product. The cost of the competing patent should be:

a) amortized over a maximum period of 20 years
b) amortized over a maximum period of 16 years
c) amortized over a maximum period of 11 years
d) expensed in 2007

I am leaving a company and I have purchased things through the company on a personal account. They are saying I need to pay it off before I go. I cant do that without breaking myself financially to the point of being homeless (I owe over $600). Can they legally deduct this from my last paycheck or should I just tell them to f themselves?

This is embarassing to admit, but one of my credit cards' APR is 33% (long story)! I have signed up for additional cards with 0% balance transfer rates. Any suggestions on how I can better approach this situation? Reducing spending has been implemented.

I really want to go to law school but be self employed afterwards. I am a single parent and really want to provide him a stable homelife as possible (being there for his games, plays, homework, etc.). I would really like to do legal research, family law, ip, or environmental law or estate law. Can I do those on my own with a 9 hour day or is going to law school pretty much a waste of time?
