I dont have an account in India but would like to cash a third party cheque that is already stamped "Not NEgotiable" Can I have the term "net negotiable" voided by getting the payer to cross it offa and sign it again? Or what else can I do?

No, "Not Negotiable" means that it cannot be cashed by anyone. The issuer of the cheque will have to replace it.

No, look up "not - negotiable" in the dictionary .
Crossing it out would make it an altered check and again
NOT cashable.
You can get the payer to issue a whole new check that does not have " not negotiable " on it - then , maybe , someone will consider a 3rd party check , although it is still unlikely.

AND FYI: not negotiable is usually NOT a check but a duplicate / record of a real check that was issued.
OR a conditional check, that is actually a loan and requires completion of loan application paperwork.

No you can not cash a Not Negotiable check or have it voided off. It is not legal tender because it has already been cashed.

Not negotiable means'useless'---cannot be cashed.
