My Scottish husband lived in the UK prior to our wedding in September 2006. He does not yet have a Social Security Number nor does he have any US income. I understand that I have to file as married, but what do I do without a SSN for him? File jointly, seperately? Do we have to get a tax ID for him if he does not have income? TurboTax will not let me submit without his SSN.

I've been asked this twice recently and didn't get either job. Any tips? Both times I've said stuff about supporting other team members and recognising that every person brings different skills to the team. What else is there to say?

I have missed 1 1/2 payments on my car lease agreement. I intend on doing a voluntary repo at the end of the month. However, I have given a written request for them not to contact me at work and they continue to call my employer and even told my boss that I was having problems with my lease. Is this not illegal for them to continue contacting me at work when I asked them not to? They haven't called my cell one time which I requested. What options do I have?

I received multiple quotes from various agencies or companies for multiple cars, some had a lot different premiums than the other one, even $ 800 to $1.000 difference on 6 months policy on same coverages, my question I wanted to ask, does it make a difference where you buy it from ? does the big names of well known Insurance companies costs more ? thanks for your opinions,

We had an interesting situation happen recently. We are selling our home For Sale By Owner. We had an interested party call us up, talk to us about 10 minutes, and schedule a showing of our hope. They came, looked around and seemed VERY interested. They mentioned they were working with a real-estate agent, and we said we didn't have a problem with that.

Anyway, we haven't seen the couple since, two days later the real-estate agent gets a hold of us and tells us he'd like to meet with us tonight to discuss with us the couple and their intentions. I say yeah, he tells me he's going to call us at 6pm that night and come over soon after that.

He calls me again 30 minutes later, and says he is about to meet with the prospective buyers. He then starts asking me some very probing questions, specifically trying to find out the exact amount we'd sell the house for. I quickly tell him it's up to the offer price, and who is paying closing costs/ his commission.

I started a business in 2005. I pay contractors to do the work for me. At this time, I do not collect any earnings from my business. I reinvest the money back into the business to grow it. Which forms should I fill out to report the company's earnings and expenses. I already filed the 1099 and 1096 for my contractors.

Is there a method for valuating property? I'd read somewhere that even though property is always valued based on similar properties in that area, I'd also read that there is actually a method to calculate the value.

Please advise. Thank you.

H and R Block with the audit protection(or any other brands)? I run a real estate business where 100% of my income derives from rent collected from rentors. I also need a system that figures out depreciation on my investments, houses, farmland etc...
I've had my taxes proffessionally done and electronically filed the last few years and have been very satisfied and the bill from my accountant comes out to about $150.00 per year. I am self-employed and am supposed to be paying in quarterly but the penaltys are not that high from the IRS so I just do them all at one time.
Any advice would be appreciated!

I am newly married (less than a yr) and my hubby owes the IRS $$ because of an overpayment a few years ago. If we file together won't they claim the return for his debt? Is there a way to have tax forgiveness this time since we just found out about a mini audit. I thought I read somewhere that they wont claim the entire tax return since we haven't been married that long. Please only answer if you have experience with this or are a tax preparer. Thank You.
