I've been asked this twice recently and didn't get either job. Any tips? Both times I've said stuff about supporting other team members and recognising that every person brings different skills to the team. What else is there to say?

Gosh Molly, I like your answer. Maybe add something like "sharing information and making sure I work extra hard and contribute my share to the team success."
Chances are this question alone didn't have anything to do with the fact you didn't get the jobs. It's the totality of information and the "feeling" the interviewer gets that makes the interview successful or not.
Continue to be open and honest, look the interviewer in the eye, and speak confidently. Good Luck

Maybe next time try injecting a little humour in to the proceedings and say something like, Preferably anyone who doesn't play for the England football or cricket team. If you can make someone laugh you're half way there. Good luck next time.

ive had a phone interview before and was asked that-was hard.
i said a team player is someone who works with others to reach the goal,i said for example -in sport. didnt get the job!

AS a person who looks after the famaily say like a father figure or like ahead of the famaily.
