I'm planning to talk with an employee whose lost respect for her position and me. She's been working for me 3 months. I've seen a drastic change. i.e. calling in and saying she's going to be 30 minutes late because her heater broke (her husband is home and could take care of this), not addressing me as Miss_____ like she did when she first started, asking for time off to go see her brother in the hospital, and putting additional time on her card that I've not approved, saying she will work a weekend and not showing up until I call her and ask what's up with that? She's also taken 11 days off since she's worked with me 3 months now (6 days death in the family-3 days for daughter being sick-legitimate).

She's great with my daughter as a sitter, but I'm really disappointed and tend to feel like I'm being taken advantage of. She works in my home. I think maybe she has gotten too comfortable and expects to get time off everytime something happens.

Any suggestions?

I have heard this term used in terms of fees associated with a brand new home (as in "taxes, insurance, and mello roos fees"). What does that mean?

I recently graduated college in May 06 in New York. Sen. Chuck Schumer spoke at our commencement, saying that he would grant/pass law/ something regarding a $4000 tax credit for parents of students paying tuition. My question is this:

1.) Has anyone heard of or know of this? Let me say that I have searched for it in the State and Federal Tax code and haven't found it. And if anyone has heard of it...

2.) Could I myself claim the credit because as a student I paid my own way independent of parent. I am an older student who returned to college. Any help would be great.

3.) Anyone know a Tax professional I could ask about this in the Rochester NY area for a minimum fee?

Did the founders consider that people might "cheat" in the sell or buy process? (such as be dishonest about the quailty of the things they sell...etc)

How did they pervent it? Or how was it avoided? Or did this problem didn't even occur?(were users mostly honest?)

Because online, each kind of human interaction is based on some amount of "unseeable" trust...you can't tell if the person you're chatting to is lying about his age or something...how did e-Bay overcome this "trust"& integrity thing between buyers&sellers???

For the last many years I have received a full refund on federal and state income taxes due to my numerous deductions (HOH, 2 little ones, myself, etc.). Now I'm married. What's the best way? Joint or seperate? He's a farmer - he's at a loss this year due to the drought and will not be able to show any profit. Will I still get back a full refund if I file seperate or will I lose that since I'm not longer head of household and single?

I currently have some money from a previous job in an regular IRA. I'd love to put it in a Roth but when I do I'll have to leave it there with the initial interest rate I joined with - as I understand it. Is now a good time to convert my traditional IRA to a Roth or are there better options?

I need to withdraw £2,000 from a UK bank account in China, however the ATM machines here limit the amount you can withdraw in one day to £400 and charge you for each withdrawl. Therefore I want to know if it is possible to go into a bank and withdraw the money all in one go using my Visa Electron card.
