Get it in writing from them that they want you out then move. If you have it in writing, they won't win in small claims court. Just pay your share until you leave.

It may vary by state but I would think if you had already paid rent for a particular month, it would be tough to force you out before that month was over unless there was some very serious infraction or you were considered a danger in some way.

You'll need to check your local laws and see, but chances are without a lease you don't have many rights as far as staying there past the current paid month.

Technically.... one month.

If you stay longer, they would need to process eviction papers to make you leave.
