because of the almighty dollar, of course. I agree with you tho--should be closed on holidays.

It because a matter of being PC and having to respect all holidays. What might not be a holiday for you, maybe a holiday for me, and vice versa, so in turn alot of businesses just go with the whole "whats good for the goose is good for the gander" and stop observing the holidays in the work place and keep offices open.

They're just trying to make a living. Not everyone celebrates the same holidays as you. Otherwise you would be forced to celebrate your holidays and theirs too.

A lot of people are off work and have nothing to do, so the business wants them to go to their place and spend money.
