My grandmother's name is the only name on the title. However, my mother's siblings want her to sign a quitclaim deed giving the house to a younger brother for $1. They have sent her the deed from an attorney and a title company to sign. She refuses. Instead, she wants to have the brother buy the house, and have the monies distributed to the other siblings. Does this need to go through probate? What will happen if she doesn't sign? All of the other siblings have already signed the quitclaim deed. The brother is living in the house and is paying the mortgage.

I believe in the concept of MLM marketing but in my search of MLM companies I find that the products are either a bunch of garbage or they are overpriced from the point of origin. An MLM company will charge a distributor a so-called wholesale price for a product when in fact the price is higher than it should ever be at the retail level.
Is there a genuine MLM company that has a product that isn't overpriced at it's point of origin,--a product that can be demonstrated to others?

I've purchased a new vehicle in October for my Real Estate practice. I bought it specifically because it was needed for my Real Estate career. It will be used primarily for work (90%). If I planned to use the mileage deduction for the first 10 months of the year, what kind of tax deduction can I get for this new car purchase for the other 2 months? Do I skip the mileage deduction and write off the total purchase price of the new vehicle for a one time deduction? Do I only write off 90% of the monthly car payment for the life of the loan? How do I do this? I DO know that I can write this off as a business expense, just not sure how. I'd like to get the biggest deduction THIS year, rather than depreciate it over a few years. It would be in my business expenses (not my families itemized deductions). Also, I'm just filing as self employed; I'm not incorporated. My husband has a normal W-2 taxes taken out kinda job and we file married filing jointly.

The positions I am applying for are court clerk positions, nothing high ranking, so how "thorough" will these background checks be? In the state of Colo., when verifiying employment, the employer can only say if you are rehireable, and nothing else. How much can they legally say if they are contacted for a background check? I have worked for some real aholes in the past and I don't know what they will (or can) say.

My grandmother recently passed away with no will. My mother's siblings have all signed over a quitclaim deed transfering the house over to the youngest brother for $1. My mom doesn't want to sign the deed. Instead, she wants the youngest brother to buy the house, and divide the monies equally between all of the siblings. What happens if my mom doesn't sign the deed? Can her brother continue to stay in the house and pay the remainder of the mortgage left on the house? None of the siblings have the money to take this to court. What will be the probable outcome?

I was in my sons room and saw my landlord drive by. I then heard a knock on the door.( like 2 seconds later) I knew it was him but I couldn't get to the door in time. As I was (finally) walking to the door, I heard it close. What gave him the right to be able to just open it up? I never heard him calling my name...and he had to hear me talking to my kids. This has me very angry...i wonder how many times he has just come in when he wants.
