When posting a sign where is the proper place to put the tape?

On the back with double sided tape or can you put tape across the front corners?

Either way works plus you can use regular single sided tape rolled in circle if you don't have double-sided tape. I think it looks neater if you keep the tape on the back rather than the front corners.
