My next door neighbor will not turn down loud music but expects me to get rid of my surround sound system. I have contacted her with no response, I have contacted her land lord and he refused to say anything to her, and the local police will not do anything. What can I do? Is there anything in the laws about a landlord being responisble for his tenants?

I worked at a seasonal job for two seasons. The second year my lead (who wasn't actually a higher rank) and I did not get along too well. The problem was she made errors constantly. I did my job extremely well, and we worked in close quarters, so she was always thinking I would take the errors to our boss to get her in trouble. Though, that's not my style. Anyway the lady who interviewed me got promoted to a supervisor after the season ended. I'm afraid that the lead (who I didn't get along with) talked badly about me and the new supervisor doesn't know better. The director of the department may or may not take an interest in this issue. I got a call back and they wanted me to work hardly any hours at a night shift. I'm assuming so I can fix everything and have it all nice and neat for in the morning. I still haven't recieved a call back when I told them I needed more hours. I'm just asking how I should go about this without making myself look bad, and maybe reveal the back stab. cw?

I'm thinking about investing in a mutual fund with average to above average risk- less than a $1,000, for at least 2 to 3 years. Any suggestions on good funds, or what I need to look for in a fund. This is my first time investing.

There is this company called Chesapeake gas Co. who discovered natural gas in our area. They are wanting to drill and give us money to allow them to drill. My property may or may not be above a gas reserve, BUT, they would still be running gas pipes under my property. Either way I would get money. Should I go ahead and get a lawyer now or wait to see what happens...? What should I do? I hear Chesapeake is the third largest oil and gas company in the world! PS: I don't know what category to put this under, business or geology.... sorry

I was under the impression that there is actually very little loan companies can do to recouperate unsecured debts. I know they can ccj the debtor but is it correct that they can also enlist bailiffs and detatchment of earnings orders? I thought that these were only for things like council tax and court costs?

I am a first time homebuyer. I am about to put an offer in on a house that is kind of a lowball offer. I am willing to go up $25K more max if need be, do I tell my agent (he's a buyers agent working for me) that I am willing to go up, or should I keep this vague?
Thanks

About 4 months ago I had gotten injured at work.. I run a printing press. My fingers where smashed in it and 8 weeks i was not able to run my press.. I have been back working on the press now for some time.. But now i am being treated differently.. the guys never really accepted me. I have been the only woman to actually be able to master running a press no matter where i have worked.. It seems they are sexist at least most of them.. I don't feel i am being treated the same by my supervisor or even the owner anymore.. When i was not able to run i worked in another department.. I have talked to the owner and i asked if someday i could move to that department.. I said i didn't want to do it unless it was a good choice for the company. I don't want to switch areas leaving them to search and scramble to find another printer.. well.. now it seems I will be moving according to the gossip but no one has even mentioned it as far as a supervisor or the owner. what do you think?

On my lease rent is due on the first of each month and after the 4th it's late and you have to pay $55, and after that each day on have to pay $15 for each day your late. I know that's it's alot but I signed the lease. I'm moving early next year so I can't wait to leave.

Is anyone trying to live debt free? I mean really trying. No using credit cards, paying off your house early, etc. I'm not doing it but maybe I should. Is it even possible?

I live in Atlanta and I am going to be taking a 6-12 month contract in another state. I have a nice 3 bedroom home 2.5 bathroom home about 12 miles from downtown (in the suburbs) but it is not in an attraction area nor is it set up like a vacation home. I don't want my home to just sit idel for that long period of time and I don't want to sell it because I will be coming back to town once a month and at the end of the contract, I will be moving back in it. I am worried about renting it out for fear of someone tearing it up but I may have to do this. What shoudl I do with it? Should I try to rent it out weekly as a vacation home? Any other suggestions?
