I am currently paying on them. The collection agency takes 10 percent out of my check weekly.

you have to call the bank or collection agency ...duh

I would call the school to find out as the collection agency gets part of that 10 percent for their fee. If possible you would be better off if you could take out a loan as the interest may be less than the fee the collection company gets

Contact the collection agency and demand that they validate the debt. You want a full accounting of the amount they claim you owe.

If they fail to do so, then stop payments to them. You have no way of knowing if they are taking too much from you!

You should be able to contact your lender. If it is in the hands of a collection agency, then they should be able to give you the numbers.
