It's a nice central location, and with expanses of the nieghboring large towns, Durham, Burlington, Greensboro... it might be nice to have a smaller town environment to come home to. If you fly frequently you've made it easier to shop RDU versus GSO against each other for better fares. Also mid-way between the beach and the mountains...
But honestly I know nothing about what houses list for there, even so, NC is a great place to live!

I HAVE LIVED IN MEBANE N.C. FOR 47 YEARS EXCEPT FOR 6YRS THAT I WAS IN THE ARMY. MEBANE IS A GREAT LITTLE TOWN. MEBANE IS VERY LAID BACK TOWN BUT NOT BORING. I LOVE MEBANE AND I THINK YOU WILL TOO . I HOPE YOU WILL MAKE IT YOUR HOME.

not in durham but in raleigh is the best or depends what city are you moving
