Im in about 18,000 dollars in debt, my payments are about 450 a month in minimum payments. I make 8 dollars and hour raising a 15 yr old daughter. I no longer purchase anything on the cards, I just want to pay it off. i am despartley afriad of my credit being ruined because I dont have any social security or any income for when Im older, and all Ill have is my credit. Ive never been late on paying, but my card payments have come first before gas money and food. Im so scared and drained. Should I just consolidate and pay whatever I can...or should I keep struggling and paying them first and pray I make it till they are paid off? Right now my income is less than my bills and im just drowning more and more. Ive always been proud of paying my cards on time and in full...but in the long run its effecting my rent, food, bills....The reason the amount got so high was that I was out of work and it was put the rent on the cards or become homeless. What can I do?

I like my job. I like working in a cinema. If you don't know, it's nothing like home projection, and you need skills and trainings to deal with industrial films and projection equipments.
But if I leave the cinema, where will I be able to work for? Will I be able to work as a projectionist for movie companies? Maybe a film lab? I know I can try to be an engineer, but I have to be a chief projectionist first for that.
Any idea, anyone?
Anyway, I’ll be still working as a cinema projectionist till I get fed up, but I am just curious.

I have this big project due in my "Accounting for Small Business" class and I'm beyond confused....apparently, I should have paid a little more attention. How would I record this transaction in the general journal:

"Delivered invoice #1 for $1,200 for job completed"

Or does that transaction even require a journal entry? I just assumed it did seens how the teacher gave us about 10 sheets worth of double-columned 'general journal' paper. Isn't an invoice a bill? And if you delivered a bill for a job completed, wouldn't that be like "doing a job on account"? Therefore, wouldn't that be a debit to accounts receivable and credit to fees earned? That's what I'm thinking....but I'm only about 10% sure that's right. Please help!

Thanks in advance...

A few years ago I remember hearing that it was considered illegal for a previous employer to talk badly about you when someone calls for a work reference. That they are to only pretty much ask: "If givin the chance would you hire her/him again?" and then the reference is to answer with a yes or no. That they are not to "diminish" your name for a bad work experience. Is this true? What is allowed to be said, etc.? Does anyone know? THANKS

I need help, I received a letter today from a collection agency stating that I owe $1800.00 and they are willing to settle for $1100. Here are my problems first of all I am unsure who the money is going to, and secondly if it is to the place I am thinking of which is Capital One. I had received a maximum limit from them of $300 which of course I fell behind on my payments and now they say I owe $1800 can they really charge that much extra in fees?

Veryconfused

I notice that in buildings like libraries, offices, stores, etc, that the ceilings are always higher than what you would normally see in a house. It seems like so much wasted space up there. Is there a specific purpose for making the ceilings higher?

Ok so here's the story...

I have been living in Greece for 4 years. Not paying any insurance/stamps over here.
Have never had a job in the U.K, not been on the dole, not paid NIS.
I have a national insurance number but have never used it. Have never had a uk tax form.
Once had a Greek tax form but after the 1st year they stopped sending them as i guess i have nothing to pay (the Greek accountant said if i havn't received one don't worry about it).

Now... What happens if i want to move back to the U.K and work/live?

Someone said i will owe 6years worth of stamps (left school at 16, now 22).... and will be paying 33% tax on my earnings to begin with..... Is this right?

Please help im getting rather scared now. I didn't know i was supposed to pay anything if i didn't work.
