I like my job. I like working in a cinema. If you don't know, it's nothing like home projection, and you need skills and trainings to deal with industrial films and projection equipments.
But if I leave the cinema, where will I be able to work for? Will I be able to work as a projectionist for movie companies? Maybe a film lab? I know I can try to be an engineer, but I have to be a chief projectionist first for that.
Any idea, anyone?
Anyway, I’ll be still working as a cinema projectionist till I get fed up, but I am just curious.

We hardly ever use DVD at the moment, but use 35mm film. You need to know how to cut and paste it correctly.
We will not be able to use DVDs at least another 10 or 15 years or so, till digital projection equipments and its connection get sorted.

Theatre use projections you could go into the technical side of that you could also receive training for things like sound and lighting through this. Equally things like concerts and stand up shows. You could always see if you can take courses to expand your skills..

Friend do not get discouraged...you must have other general skills that suport your present skills to cary on your present emplyement or nature of your work. Always remember nothing is for ever, so now is the time to prepare yourself to do something else in case you loose what you have now. In Libraries, in education centers like colleges always you can find experts that they can test your present total skils, plus you can express your feelings face to face....and then you get honest opinions and advices to what you can do next. Usually if a person stays long time in one kind of Employement and get used to his suroundings is afraid to try and work on something new...his fear of failure overcomes him or her. And in conclusion remember ....as human beens we have to learn to cope and adjust acording the circumstances, and just have faith ,do your best, and you are not going to fell
