I'm recently seperated from my wife and we're getting a divorce. She kicked me out of our apt, and I'm at a friends. I can't stay here forever. I need at least $5000 for move in expenses since I have nothing, furniture, bed, sheets etc. I'm recently re-building my credit and have a new credit card I've been using to live for the last three weeks. I have a good solid paying job, but no savings.

Do you think my bank will give me a temp loan? I'm expecting a bonus from my work in Dec so I can pay it off then.

What should I do?

I'm very interested in the field of forensics. I want to know more about what exactly they do. I could research it on the web, but I want real and true answers, not glorified statements about the career. Is it generally a good job? How about the pay and benefits? Is there opportunities for promotion? Do you ever have to go to court and testify, or is that just for managers, etc? Is it a M-F day job, or are the labs run 24-7? Any info that someone could share with me would be appreciated. Thanks

My sister was recently laid off after a large corporation acquired her company. She was offered a position with the new firm for less $ than she was making even though the new company's salary range for the position she was offered would accommodate her old salary. Employees with less experience & less reputation are making more $ than she was offered. If my sister accepted the lesser offer, she would no longer be able to make her house payment so she declined. She was given 12 weeks severance (to be paid by the acquired company). I know from an accounting perspective, the new company's bottom line will look good, and the old company's bottom line takes the hit for the severance pay. BUT when you put it all together at the larger corporate level, it is penny-wise and pound foolish, to let a really good employee slip away due to a very short-sighted middle management decision. I want to vent to someone high up in the food chain and know that they will read it, and maybe respond.

My questions are, what is an ok score to be able to buy a house? Once I get the studant loans off my credit report how much would it possably bring up my score. Thanks much you guys are the greatest :)

I have looked at patenting, but we couldnt because we are merely using existing technologies together in a quite simple way that would save lives. Who should I contact please, and yes we do want to sell the idea.

My boss has serious problems, seems no body at the office likes her anymore. She is always causing problems between co-workers. She doesn't like it when we all get along. She emails some of us and asks if we are having problems with certain other co-workers. Doesn't she know that if we were having issues with someone we would come to her? Why would she keep trying to stir things up among us?

Is this normal? Is she paranoid?

Alternatively, why not initiate a windfall tax, and give the money to either me or the poor. I know which I choose.

My parents currently owe about 240k on their home. I would say it might sell for 300k if put on the market right now.
I want to take over the mortgage and also take over the title.
What is the best legal way to do this without having to pay tons of fees, taxes etc? My parents have owned this home for over 2 years so no worries about capital gains taxes.

I have been a loyal employee for 10 years. I recently found out that I am still below midpoint on my salary scale. I have been offered another job which is not quite as good as the one I have but it has a good future earnings potential. My bosses all tell me how much of an asset I am to the company and that I am doing a fantastic job. I also recently did receive a 10% increase in salary. But if I were to leave and come back they would pay me at least 20% more than I make now based on my experience and name in the community. I feel like they are running over me. Should I take a chance and leave? I don't appreciate being treated like a door mat. Please help.

I've lived in england all my life and I cant believe we are letting our government get away with the stuff they are doing..specifically Council Tax... I understand that they may have to reform how council tax is calculated but I cant decide who's more stupid..them for thinking they can get away with what they are doing or us for letting them.

When did this country become a dictatorship... since when was it ok for someone to come in to your home, that you have spent your hard earned money buying and (some people scraping a living) making comfortable and nice, and they want to come in to your home and decide that they take more money for your hard work... plus the tax that you have already spent buying stuff, tax on your wages etc....I understand if you have added 5 bathrooms and a swimming pool as this may cause more demand on services for your house but most improvements are cosmetic....and now they are rumouring that they will tax us on where we live!?

This government won't be happy till we all live in a crap whole... where is the insentive for the more run down areas, where lets face it people may not be able to afford to spend much money on their houses, especially if there council tax goes up for the privalige... and now it will go up even more if they spend money on the outside of the house.

They complain that people are spending less...but what do they think happens when they take the money from us before we get the chance to buy food and clothes.

What do people think...is it about time the government listen to the people who pays there over infalted wages!

We have a credit card debt management company who is helping reduce interest rates and all of that, but they say it's a 4 year ride on the payment train. Anyone know of a faster way than debt consolidation.
