I have looked at patenting, but we couldnt because we are merely using existing technologies together in a quite simple way that would save lives. Who should I contact please, and yes we do want to sell the idea.

Have you looked at patenting it in the US? The rules may be different. You can patent ways of "using existing technologies together", I believe. In fact, there are more inventions for that sort of thing than for truly new technologies. Look at all the products that are based on transistors or computers - just using them in new ways.

In any case, there are businesses out there whose business is to "help" inventors bring their ideas to life. I found several by doing a Yahoo web search on the phrase "inventor help".

If you can't patent it it's open to copying therefore not a good investment
