The benefits might be okay, but the pay stinks! I started working for one 11 years ago, starting at $5.00 an hour. I only left once for medical reasons, and I'm still making only $7.75 an hour. Gimme a break! This is 2006! And don't tell me I should look for another job, because it's not that easy when you're already working.

The business will hopefully be a party supply store for online mainly. I have several ideas for inventory items. And was thinking of working out of my home or a separate apt if needed. I've found several wholesale websites and when compared to some stores I know there would be a profit. It just seems weird, ordering from a place that sells both wholesale and regular pricing. So I would order my inventory from X and then turn around and sell it thru my website store for a profit. I'm looking into local state, county and city license requirements. I'd much rather do an actual store, but I'm hoping this will be a start up way

The "Nobel Prize” for economics is not technically a Nobel Prize. Wikipedia lists Economists among Nobel laureates but it does not say if that title properly applies to them.

I signed up to become a financial advisor with a company prior to me discovering other more preferrable companies. I haven't gotten the series 7 or conducted any transactions.

Anywhere I can find the specific job of a CPA? Its for a paper. So far I know they can work pretty much anywhere (corp, public, gov't, non profit org, and individuals).
They can work as a CFO, Partner (though its difficult to obtain), auditor, treasurer, credit-analysis, cash management, etc....
But do they have any specific job roles with a Certification that puts them above and beyond non-certified accountants?

We have a house and acreage that is still in my long deceased grandmother's name. There are 8 kids in our immediate family and nobody wants it solely in their name, as it would be unfair to the others. We do, however, want to rent the house out so my mom will have extra income. The insurance companies I have checked with say they can't insure it unless we can show, by lawyers papers, that it is being transferred into a living person's name. Is there any loop holes to this and/or is there any way to insure the property so we can rent it out? We thought about just having the person that rents it put renter's insurance on the place, but that would only cover their contents inside the house, so that is not an option. This is for the state of Ohio. Thank you in advance to anyone who can help with this!

okay heres the deal.....i'm looking for a part time job. i had a job about 3 years ago in a drug store.....i worked there for 3 years, but i was young and dumb and did some dishonest things that got me fired.........so i'm looking for a similar job now , my questions are should i even put the down on my resume? will they say why they fired me? what should i do? i just think putting them down might give me an advantage because i worked there for 3 years and got alot of experience.. or should i just lie about my employment history.......i've done it before. please give me some ideas.

A friend who is nearing retirement says that she has to earn as much as possible for the last few years before she retires so that she can get the most social security benefits. Is it true that if you change jobs and make less money (in a less stressful job!) that it will affect what you get at retirement?

Discover card said as long as merchant has imprint of card they can charge you for several nights and discover card cannot do anything about it, even though you have a signed receipt for only one night. Discover card said my only option is to sue the hotel. If this is true no credit cards are safe to use. Can this really be true??
