1)The Prepaid Insurance account shows the following entries on June 30:
Beginning Balance $ 1,530
January 1 $2,900
May 1 $3,366
The beginning balance represents the unexpired portion of a one-year policy purchased the previous year. The January 1 entry represents a new one-year policy, and the May 1 entry represents the additional coverage of a three-year policy.

Insurance Expense?
Prepaid Expense?

2)On June 1, the company completed negotiations with another client and accepted a payment of $ 21,000, representing one year’s services paid in advance. The $ 21,000 was credited to Services Collected in Advance.
Services Collected in Advance?
Service Revenue?
Thanks. 10 Points to the person who does this.

I applied to a position at a naval museum some time ago but the position I wanted was taken. However, a new, but different position opened up that I find myself qualified for so I sent in my resume.

Is it possible to re-apply with a company for a different position? Just curious.

P.S. I passed the initial interview the first time around but the new supervisor didn't ask me in (and they know me since I had called them on a weekly basis to let them know my interest in the position).

I just left a job because we're moving. How do I get my retirement savings into another account without withdrawing it? I do not have a new job yet, so it wont happen there. The HR person didn’t mention anything about it when I did my exit interview, and I dont even know where to being. I have not been out of school for long, so this is all new to me.

I am almost 60 years old and I was fired from my job in June in a power struggle with upper management and don't have the financial resources to retire at the present time. Looking for part-time employment or a part-time business opportunity with limited or no investment required that will earn me an income of at least $50K for 7 years until I can retire.I've been a very sucessful Gerneral Manager in quite a few different fields. I started in retail chain store management which had direct mail and mail-order marketing, ran a wooden flush door manufacturing company which was marketed through outside sales reps, and ran a company that sold and rented constructuion systems (scaffolding, shoring & forming). I live in S. Florida in Fort Lauderdale. I've had extensive sucessful P&L responsibilities for years with emphasis on distribution. I'm organized, detail oriented, a planner, and the ability to put together a group of people who work well together accomplishing preset goals.

I was wondering. I applied for their CC a while ago and the letter stated the there is no info available or info missing from each of the credit agencies. Fair enough, I didn't have any credit. Well, after few months, when I did have some credit, I tried again and same exact letter came back. So I sent them copies of two of my credit reports, and guess what, the exact same letter came back the third time. What the hell... I have limited credit history as they focused on and meet all the basic criteria. I know that's not everything, but can't they at least write something else, more case-related?

We're renting out a four bedroom house. Two people have applied together for the residence. Their combined income does not meet the required monthly income (3x the rental price). They may want to fill out applications for their fiances so their fiances' incomes can be included in the monthly take home, thereby qualifying them for the rental. What are the disadvantages, if any, of splitting the lease four-ways? Should I request an application fee for all four apps?

to me that is really dumb. Why would you pay all interst for your house. I woulnd't even do a thiryt year mortgage. First fifteen years is all most.ly intrest. I can't figure it out. Are these same people naive and listen to real estate agents or mortgage brokers. there like any other salesman. Out to make the sale and that's it.

I bought my house 8 months ago and I think I might have paid to much. I was foolish and didn't make a wise decision. I bought a house during the housing boom and now that we're heading for a slow down or recession I doubt I will ever make my money back. I paid $180,000 for a 800 Sq foot home with no yard or garage. People warned me but I didn't listen. And I just found out my basement leaks and needs $20,000 in repair. Maybe I should just walk away and let Canadian Housing and Mortgage Corporation pay off my mortgage. At this point there is no way I can make my money back. It turns out that I am not alone.

I know it depends on the location and all that, I just want to know what's the cheapest price to the highest price and the usual price I should be expecting to pay if I was to ever purchase land there (I know it depends on when like the time, just quote me for the rates right now ok).

Thx!

We are in the process of renting a house out. Yesterday I accepted an application from two women who are friends and want to rent the house together.

Questions:
1) Am I legally required to accept applications from both of them? In other words, can a landlord decide to rent to only one party? I'm a bit wary of splittling the lease between the two of them because what if they have a falling out? However, I don't think I can deny them based on this because it could be considered discrimination based on familial status, correct?
2) They are using their fiances' incomes on the application to boost their monthly take-home. Should we consider this income since the fiances are not actually acting as co-applicants? I'm thinking no...
3) I haven't processed the application yet, but one of them said her credit score was 560. She said she's had a clean rental history at her apartment (which I'll verify, of course). What do you recommend as a cut-off no-go credit score?

Our son was involved in an accident 3yrs ago which required an ambulance ride. we were never contacted or informed of any bill and easy to locate as we live at that same address for over 10 yrs. we have good auto and medical insurance which would have covered it, we have good credit, until now. we went to do something and were denied credit which is how we discovered this issue. we have many phone call to all involved parties, initial company, collection agency, insurance companies and nothing resolved. when we ask collection people why we were never sent and bill and explain that we have/had insurance to cover this stuff their claim is that they couldn't locate us and our son would not give information, not true who cares, were insured. the insurance companies states that it has reached a 2yr statue of limitation. when I asked the ambulance company why they didn't obtain the information from my son their response was that the drivers are too busy and dont have time..

Six years ago I attempted to buy a condo, but the seller tried to void the contract and would not release my earnest money. I decided to take him to court and since then I have bought another place and moved again. We finally settled the case this year. Part of the settlement was to release the property, but since I had no interest in actually purchasing the property I immediately (same closing) sold the property to another party which was all part of the deal. I netted just under $12,000 and never took possession of the property. How will I be taxed on this money? So far I have not received any tax documentation - only a settlement statement.
