I have a 1971 penny with a "bite" taken out of the edge of it. The bite is a circular slice out of the coin at the 8 o'clock position looking at the obverse side from where Lincoln's shoulder touches the edge up to just past the word "Liberty", and the arc of the curve is about the same as the curve of the penny. The "L" in Liberty is not in the right position, actually slightly moved over to the cut edge, making me think the cut was there when the coin was struck and not chopped out afterwards. On the reverse the word "United" is also distorted slightly where the letters run into the cut edge. Because of these distortions in the lettering it seems to me that when the coin was struck the cut was already there. Could this thing be worth anything, other than 1c?
