Mostly to offset liabilities.

If a driver is in an accident resulting in injury or death, lawsuits would be limited to the LLC, not the parent company.

LLC stands for LIMITED LIABILITY COMPANY- Meaning if the LLC was to get sued by you because you fell down on there shipping dock by tripping on something, You could only sue the LLC and not the parent company, Unless you can prove the parent company had a direct hand in causing you to fall.Big trucking company's will do LLC so if a driver was in a wreck you cant get at the owner, you can only get the assets in the LLC
