I was fired today under some questionable circumstances, and I need to know if anyone knows of any wrongful termination or sexual harassment attorneys in Spokane County Wa. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

First contact the EEOC office in your area—go through http://www.eeoc.gov/contact.html.

If they think you have a case, they may represent you, free—but it could take a long time.

An attorney may give you a free consult, too. Make sure you speak with someone who specializes in employment law. Go through the Bar Association to find Employment Law Attorneys in your area: http://www.abanet.org/

I hope it works out well for you.

I can't give you any Legal advice, but look in the phone book and start calling Employment Attorneys, I am involved in a suit stemming from Sexual Harassment and Retaliation from my Supervisors and Managers, I was also threatened by another employee, the Union and Human resources wasn't of much help to me. I am still considered "Employed" but when on a Medical Leave, I would also suggest seeking out a Therapist to talk to, this kind of Trauma in your life can and will cause Depression, and Anger within you, I do not live in the Seattle/Spokane area, but I wish you all the luck. Be prepared for a long haul battle, it will take over two years or more to settle this case. Wherever you live, it is wrong to have to go into a work place and put up with Barbaric Behavior. Take Care.

My brother lives in Everett, and there are a lot of good counselors out there.

I don't know of any wrongful termination or sexual harassment lawyers in Spokane County Wa, but you can get info by calling the State Bar Association. Also, you can get your papers or records that states what you have done wrong on the job by putting a letter in writing under the right to know act. Also, if this person has sexually harrassed you, you can sue under deflamation of character.

I am not sure of the lawyers there in that area, however, you can check to see if you have a Department of Human Rights. If you feel you were fired for a reason you should not have. It is called "Unlawful Termination". You can file at the Department of Human Rights and they will look into it as a legal matter so you will not have to look for a lawyer. I know because I was fired when I was sexually harassed on a job and I did not have sufficient evidence and they got rid of me to try and get rid of the problem. Little did they know that it would still come back to haunt them because of the Department of Human Rights. Good luck.

Law prohibits termination of an employee, even an at-will employee, for impermissible reasons. Generally, these reasons include firing an employee on the basis of race, age or gender, or for exercising a socially important right, such as resisting sexual harassment; missing work for jury duty or parental or family leave; reporting environmental, safety or Group of workers standing in front of a globefiscal violations, or for other whistleblower actions. These are known as wrongful termination or wrongful discharge claims.

An employee may also have rights under an employment contract between the employee and employer. Promises or policies in employee handbooks, memos or letters from supervisors, or posted on employer web sites may also be contractually binding on the employer.

You don't want to work there anyway, if your suspicion is true.
